I CHEATED!

So I had to travel to California yesterday and I was on a plan for 6 hrs and did well!  I packed my blender so that I could make a shake last night went I got to the hotel.  Well, my blender broke in travel so I couldn't mix the shake and I was starving!  I decided to order some chicken soup and just eat the broth, well they didn't have any!  So I ordered a piece of salmon and some spinach and I eat it!  No starch, no bread just the salmon and spinach!

I feel so bad that I cheated but I was starving.  I'm back to my shakes but I feel like I messed up big time.  My surgery is one week from today.  I will make sure at this point, that I prepare for my trip back home on Monday so this won't happen again.

Don't beat yourself up. Just get back on plan and stay there lady. Remember that this phase is to help your future surgery go well. The less fatty your liver, the easier it is for your surgeon to conduct your surgery.

You did what you had to do. You even made good choices instead of just saying, "Oh, well. The blender is broken... I'm going to order a PIZZA!" Salmon and spinach is a perfectly healthy meal and will not derail you. Just get back in track and keep moving. You've got this!

Ok, my tone is very gentle here.... you are putting yourself at grave risk eating that type of food so soon after your surgery.  Your nerves in your stomach have been severed, so you will not feel things correctly.  Your staple line is a bloody mess and food can get lodged in there and cause a leak.  Please, for your own safety... stick to the food choices that are appropriate for being a newly sleeved member.  Good luck!
