One of my hopes with surgery was improved fertility and boy oh boy did it work for me!

I'm happy to answer any questions...

Here are the basics..

Started 315 ish... surgery at 249... LW of 177... settled in at 185.  Currently 199 ... fighting old habits and loosing the rest of the baby weight... though he is 8 months old so that excuse is getting weak :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19... my ex and I adopted our amazing daughter after realizing that he also had fertility issues (like wild low sperm count).

Got divorced (separated before surgery)... My SO and I got pregnant the second month we stopped preventing... I was like one year and 2 weeks post sleeve :)

Pregnancy was great... only complication was anemia which was easily treated with supplements.

I am a very blessed and happy momma :)

This gives me hope!! Thank you so much for sharing. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17. For the past 3 yrs the hubs and I have been seeing a fertility specialist. Countless number of pills and injections. I took a break from all that and decided I'm focusing on vsg! If you have any other info please do share.

I'm not sure what I could share that would help other than there is hope for sure! I was preventing until about 8 months after surgery.  I decided to go off the pill for multiple reasons (one of which it wasn't regulating my cycles) and I kinda wanted to see what my body would do...  It took a few months off the pill and then I started having periods... I had "normal" periods for 4 months and then I was pregnant!  We had decided to stop preventing and do the year of trying seriously thinking we would end up at least needing pills to get pregnant... nope!  The 2nd moth it happened and I wasn't charting or anything... I was keep track but not TTC if that makes sense... I was SHOCKED when it was positive... scared (thinking it wouldn't stick!) and cautiously happy... as my pregnancy progressed it became just plain happy :)

Good Luck!!!

This is exactly what I needed to read right now. My date is Monday and I've been having little flashes of doubt between the excitement. I also have PCOS, been struggling with it for years. All the physical and emotional pain it brings. One of the main reasons I am having this surgery is to increase my chances of being able to conceive in the next couple years. I'm getting married in October. Thank you and congratulations!
