Thanks for the heads-up. I will look into the force. I didn't think about the alarms, that would be very helpful!

I had the FitBit One since it first came on the market. It helped me losing 100 pounds.  I now own the FitBit Force. It definitely gives me more bang for my buck than my One did.  Also, you don't have a digital display on the "Flex" model.  I need the visual check ins.    I also love setting the alarms, wearing it in the shower, I even occasionally track my sleep.

It syncs with my IPAD, IPod and computer to without any issues.  I have an older Droid, so it doesn't sync up to it, but I am due for a new phone ( I'm cheap and don't upgrade just because I can), so when I decide to get a new phone it won't be an issue.

Thank you for the info. I will look into a Force. I have a Galaxy 3 so I am hoping it will synch with it and my laptop.

One more question: how is the clasp on the wristbands? They look somewhat flimsy or like it would unsnap. Are they pretty secure? I'd hate to pay that money for it and it pop open and fall off somewhere :(

I haven't had mine fall off yet, and I am hard on it.  It has two prongs that snap into slots.

I got the Flex for Christmas and I love it!!  It does sync with My Fitness Pal so I can see my calories in vs calories burned and exercise.  I love that it is waterproof so I don't have to take it off to shower.  I check my progress all day and definately think it helps me try to take more steps!

There have been many complaints of serious skin rashes from the wrist models. Apparently there is nickel in the metal parts. I'm sure a google search will turn up lots of info on this.
