I had my 2 week follow up appt today with my surgeon and I'm down a total of 28 pounds!  He told me that I can start the pureed stage today. The few things that I have in mind are:

baked sweet potato, tomato and cream of mushroom soup (strained of course), hummus, greek yogurt and grits.  I am also going to try making the Riccotta Bake.

Is there anything else you can suggest?

I loved ham and beans pureed.  It was nice to get away from a sweet or dairy flavor.  I didn't like tuna.  Chili was good pureed.  I also made an egg salad - super mushed up - that was good.

I got to start purees when I left the hospital.  I was upgraded to soft foods after 1 week.  My doctor's eating plan is different than many I see on here.  I understand that.  But it's been working for me.

I'll bet you're glad to be getting off just fluids!

Yesterday was the first time I couldn't wait to get off of liquids.  Before than, my tummy wouldn't have been able to tolerate anything else.  I just made the Ricotta Back so I'm going to see how I do with this.  Wish me luck! lol

I had my surgery on Jan 14th and I'm doing really good.  The first week after surgery was really rough because I couldn't really drink anything and I was in pain.  Now I'm doing much better with liquids and the pains is gone except the incision where they pulled the stomach out.

As for my medicine, my pain medicine and vitamins are in liquid form.  My B12 was a disolvable so I just had to put it under my tongue. Hope your surgery goes well and you recovery quickly.

I  am so glad  to hear your response , I really  get the part about where they take out that part of the stomach I just know my Doctor better make sure my Pain is manageable lol.  Today I registered for surgery it was hard cause my sugar was dropping so low like below 42 so they said for me to drink juice and stick to the broth please Pray for me cause I already have stomach issues with having colon surgery.  I'm going to have to call my insurance carrier about the liquid  form of pain medicine.

Thank you  again and wish you well and great success on your recovery, I'll let you know about my surgery
