Leftovers make me sick?
So up until this week, I was thinking I had passed through the vomiting stage, and was good to go to eat just about anything. On Sunday, though, I had some tilapia that I had made on Friday. I ate some Friday, and it was fine, but when I ate it on Sunday (reheated in the microwave) it made me sick (my dad finished it off today and he said it was delicious and he felt fine, so it hadn't gone bad). Last night I had some shrimp with a bit of vegetables. I had leftovers that I took with me to work for lunch today. Last night it was fine, today it made me sick.
At the beginning of January, my family went out to eat for my son's birthday to his favorite restaurant - Red Robin. I got a turkey burger with no bun and I ate a third of it there and a third the next 2 days for lunch, and that was fine. I've reheated turkey meatballs and heated up deli sliced meats in the microwave, and all were fine. I am not sure why the leftover fish and shrimp would be making me sick. Could it be the texture alteration caused by microwaving seafood? Anyone else have any "leftover" issues?
Also, my portions aren't too big. I weigh everything unless I'm out, in which case I estimate based on what I have weighed at home. Both times that I have gotten sick on the leftovers, it started with the slimies.
I assume that you're reheating things in the microwave? Could it be that the meat gets too dry? Microwaves are notorious for causing foods to lose moisture... Just a thought!

That's what I'm assuming. I'm not sure how to remedy this. There's not too much that's worse than getting sick at work, and that's the only way to heat up food at work. I think it could also be the flakiness of seafood that makes my brain go, "Nah, I'm done chewing." When I could probably stand a little more.
Chewing is definitely important!!! If dryness is the culprit, could you add some sort of condiment to moisten things up a bit? I'm a big fan of mixing a little bit of olive oil mayo with a dash of sriracha sauce and a pinch of garlic powder. I use it on a lot of different things. And practically carb free!

Im preop but i have a nifty trick to try. When microwaving your leftovers try also putting in a coffee cup half full of water. When the water warms it will steam in the microwave helping your food to retain moisture. we do it with potatoes when we dont have time to bake them.

Reheating things in the microwave can be problematic. When reheating fish, I sprinkle a little water on the fish and the plate and lay a piece of wax paper on top, then microwave at 70-80% power. Chicken breasts seem to get tough, but dark meat comes out better. Lower power and creating some steam seems to help.
