What is your favorite salad?

Spinach, any veggies I have in the fridge cut up--but expecially raw mushrooms, sunflower seeds, some kind of protein, chopped egg, newmans own ginger sesame dressing. If I can afford the carbs--craisins

Yours sound delish

Wow, glad I asked!  I do a version of the spinach and citrus/berry and one that uses either feta or blue cheese... but other than that I am very, very boring!  I am going to try some of the combinations listed above- thanks for the input!

Oh my gosh, you can put almost anything on a salad! I'm sort of missing my crunchy salads right now... good thing I can start eating them again in the spring! I have so many recipes and have gotten raves on them all. If you have the drive to do so, I'd recommend sprouting some lentils and mung beans and using those to add crunch and protein to your salads. I'm also in love with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and (of course) hot pickled peppers and spicy jack cheese.

I'm also a big proponent of making your own dressings because you can control the nutritional content so much better and lower the salt by a bunch.

You know I have never even tried to make my own dressing.  I am not much of a cook- don't get me wrong I can put a dinner on the table, but only because I have to!  I should really look up some recipes- I despise most store bought dressings. I think that is why the Tahini one above sound particuarly good!

I tend to eat things for a while, and then get sick of them, but my current favorite is broccoli slaw and spinach (eating this like crazy with everything) mixed with dry cottage cheese (from a local farm - higher protein, lower carb) with hot sauce.  Very low cal/carb and very filling.

Lol, not in a million years would I have thought to combine those ingredients.  Sounds odd, but I have a feeling I would really like it given I really like all of those ingredients!
