Nervous yet confident.. it's REALLY happening!
I'm soooo excited for you! I can't wait till I get a date. If the bowel prep is anything like it is prepping for a colonoscopy, don't even leave the bathroom! You'll be rushing back before you can even sit down in the next room. Just set up a chair and move back and forth. Pretty funny! Good luck with your surgery, and don't forget to keep us posted!
Sounds like you may need to keep a good book with you on tomorrow. Congratulations on your surgery!

Good luck to you! You've got this! This coming from someone who could not imagine not eating for more than 2-3 hours... the bowel-prep day is really not too bad. The laxatives make your tummy feel - well, like not eating. Try to stay busy with movies or phone conversations to pass time quickly. If I can do it, anyone can!! Keep us posted! ~Stephanie
Hi there,
Don't worry...really, the bowel prep was cake but I cant imagine 3 bottles if its Mag Cit..That's enough to clean out a full barnyard!! I think the good thing for me was there wasn't pain associated with it.
As for the surgery, best of luck and prayers with you. I saw your surgeons name lol you are in good hands! St Vincent has a great program AND my surgeons x program nurse Christine whom I dearly miss.

LOL Your comment about clearning out a full barnyard made me laugh SO hard!!! :) I'm glad there wasn't any pain, I guess that's what I'm kinda worried about. However, I've downed 1.5 bottles of the stuff, so I've got 1.5 more to take at 2 and I'll be done with that mess! :) Dr. Ben-Meir is awesome, so far! I'm sure he'll be great tomorrow too. Although he's no longer at St. Vincent... he moved to Lake West! I'm excited because it's not far at all from where I live, so it's made planning things (with kids and babysitters) much easier!!!
Hey Michelle
You don't know it, but you and I are having a pooping party together. My surgery is tomorrow as well, so my party has already begun. I used the cherry mag citrate and the only thing that bothered me was it was so sour. My mouth puckers at the memory.
Of course, something else is puckering now. LOL
Best of luck to you. We're surgery sisters!
Nancy
YAY! I'm so glad that someone has the same surgery date as I do!!! LOL we're having a pooping party LOL! Cheers to US!!! Do you have to drink any more? I have to have another bottle and a half at 2pm... yippee. EW that stuff was SO sour, I was surprised, but ew... I have to drink more. Are you allowed to have Jello? I'm making some now so I can have some later, if I feel like it. If not, the kiddos will scarf it down. :)
I was only supposed to drink 5 of the 10 ozs in the bottle, but so far, I've only "gone" once. I'm thinking about drinking the other half anyway. I don't want there to be any "surprises" for the dr. once he gets in there. LOL
Yes, I could have jello if I want. Broth too. Anything that's clear (you can see thru) is OK. I'm drinking some Gatorade right now cause I'm hungry. The broth helps with that feeling too. I have lots of jello, but I just can't make myself eat it. I had some really nasty jello years ago after a surgery, and I just can't stand the stuff now.
I'm not packing anything for the surgery except toiletries. I'm pre-registered, and they say a gown is really all you need. Are you staying 1 night or 2? I don't know how long I'll be in because he doesn't know if I am getting a sleeve or an RNY. He has to reverse a surgery done 15 yrs ago to relieve my GERD and is going to try to do a sleeve, but if there is too much scar tissue, then he has to do the RNY. Then I'll have to stay 2 days in the hospital.
Are you nervous? I am!!
