Exercise: Totally Unmotivated!

Two things. #1. Make you and your health a priority, that is the most important. #2 make an appointment with yourself to exercise and treat it like you would any other appointment. Make sure you show up, make sure you show up on time, make sure you do everything you are supposed to do at that appointment. If you get yourself to the parking lot, you will go (gym, track, park, whatever). Once you start the motivation will come. It will take about two weeks of forcing yourself before your body takes over and wants MORE!

Love my fitbit! I realized that I am very goal oriented so I had to sign up for a 5K run to motivate me. It is so much fun now that I have one more reason to exercise.

Hi Dawn..I have read this thread and there are several great ideas...just wanted to echo the point about finding something that you WANT to do. Some folks tend to think that you can only exercise at a gym, but many things suggested previously can be done elsewhere. For me, I began walking 10-15 minutes a day, this eventually led me to begin running using the c25k program. In over 2 years now I have done a number or 5ks, 10ks and 1/2 marathons and now training for a full marathon. I run because I have "learned" to love it...find something you love, dancing, walking, and start slow and be steady...best of luck

For me, it's not really motivation.  I treat exercise as something I have to do.  Its just one of those things you do, like cooking, cleaning, going to work, studying, etc.  I think you have to treat it like that.  Some days I can't wait to get to the gym, but most of the time I drag myself in there because I know I have to.  It will help IMMENSELY with lose skin and I think a general feeling of well-being and I have never once walked out of the gym saying "I wish I wouldn't have gone working out today," usually I feel on top of the world.

Ok, you've heard it all above...but I will second the FitBit One!  I clip it to my bra every morning and I start to compete with myself - like I am super disappointed if I only walk 1.5 miles in a day!  It is totally motivating.  Having a friend at the gym is also awesome.  Thinking about my skin being less saggy is also motivating!  And I just signed up for personal training - it's expensive but I don't spend money on alcohol and spend a lot less on food so I figure it's a good splurge!  Someone showing me what to do, and me being accountable to meet him or her at a certain time will certainly help!

The scale moving rapidly in a downward rate is also motivating me ;)

Good luck finding the motivation - I totally know what it's like to be super exhausted at the end of the day.  We all feel your pain.
