When did you starting eating salad post op?  I really want a salad and I go to full solids next week.

I tried it pretty early on and it made me SICK. I have pretty much stayed away from it and focus on lean protein. I wish I could tolerate it better. I could use the fiber!!

My 2nd day on full diet I had grilled chicken salad...and for 3 days following!  I had missed it so much.  No issues.

haha  Response to food is just so individual.  I've had no issues with anything so maybe I'm atypical.  I went very slowly and I chewed it like crazy but the effort was worth the fresh veggies!  I was able to eat about 1/4 cup.

According to my post op plan, I was not allowed raw vegetables of any kind until 5-6 months out.  I wouldn't pu**** with the raw veg right away because they are usually very fibrous and hard for the stomach to break down.  You're still healing, take it easy on your new tummy.  I know salad and raw veg sounds really appealing right now but like I said, you're still healing.  Give it some time.

Keep dreaming.  By the time you finish getting your protein in, there's not a lot of room for anything extra.  I didn't have a problem tolerating them, just couldn't find space for them until I was 6 months or more out.  Yeah, I ate chicken salad and tuna salad, but if you're talking about a plate of veggies, it just didn't happen.
