I had a tummy tuck a year ago - had a great surgeon and no problems - just make sure you have all your ducks in a row before surgery, i.e. - house cleaned, laundry done, supplies your will need, a nice recliner (I slept in recliner for a couple of weeks) LOL - Would be glad for you to email me if you have any more questions, [email protected]  -

I had a full body lift including tummy tuck, outerthing and rear plus a breast lift and augmentation in 2011. I spent a lot of time interviewing surgeons before I selected the person I was most comfortable with. Recovery was tough but less so than I expected. I'd had a massive hernia operation a year earlier and the pain with that was much greater. No body looks perfect, even after surgery. I think my backside needed more lifting than it got. I have a couple of places on the lift scar that are wide and on one of them the skin is thin enough that it hurts sometimes.

My chest looks amazing, no one can tell and it looks super natural. I was also lucky in that my scars are just the circle around the nipple. That was a surprise and it made recovery much easier. The only recovery thing that was difficult was that if I got cold in the first year then they really hurt but that's gotten better. One's a little lower than the other and generally I think I went too big, I ended up double D and I would have been happier with a C. I let my husband particate when I was selecting a size and I wish I'd just gone with what I'd wanted. In some clothes I feel too busty or too matronly depending.

I hadn't planned on the body lift. My tummy was slightly lax but it didn't bother me however I want a full thigh lift and my doctor won't do it on it's own.

One thing I will say is that a year later I had liposuction on my things in prep for my leg lift. I totally regret it. I didn't realize until later that for many people lipo completely messes up your metabolism. The ratio of different types of fat on your body changes and your body swings in to gear to try and get it back. I've struggled with my weight ever since the surgery. Before that I struggled to stop losing. It also hurt a lot and created numb spots. It didn't do much for my appearance either. In this entire journey, it's the only thing I regret.

But my flat pretty tummy and youthful looking chest? I sure like those! Well worth the money and recovery time.

Thank you. My thighs are terrible I asked my surgeon for lipo on them and he said it wouldn't be beneficial because its loose skin so it has to be removed. But I don't need a full thigh lift just removal of the skin. Can't wait!
