That's a good idea. Then I'll know for sure if it is the milk or the oatmeal. I would be sad if it was the milk because I like to make protein shakes with milk.

I couldn't tolerate oatmeal that early out, either. I ended up eating Cream of Wheat made with water during my puree stage. Then I thinned it out a bit with light, plain soy milk. Plus, the Cream of Wheat has more protein than other hot cereals.

Every doctors plan if different. In fact, I didn't even have a liquid stage once I was discharged. My doctors plan has us start purees once we get home though four weeks out, then soft foods while slowly transitioning into more solid foods with no restrictions related to how dense or solid it is after three months.

I had to do clear liquids for day 1 and 2. Basically the pre op diet minus the protein shakes. The first day was fine but I was pretty miserable by day 2. I never thought I would miss protein shakes so much, lol. I was so excited to start pureed.

Are you taking a probiotic? If not, START TAKING ONE. The probiotic is going to help with what you are probably experiencing is lactose intolerance. I could not STAND anything dairy based until I started taking the probiotic. The probiotic helps to rebuild the GOOD bacteria in your new tummy. When we have surgery we get cleaned out completely of good and bad bacteria.
