Getting sick after eggs, dense protein- but not always

For the last several months now I occasionally get sick after eating things that never used to bother me.  At first, I chalked it up to eating too much or too fast.  But for sure, this is not the issue.  Now even eating 1 scrambled egg can do it.  I have a large, loosely sewn sleeve and normally 1 egg would not be a problem- or at least it never used to be.  But the weird part- this is not all the time.  Most times I am just fine, but probably 2-3 times every 2 weeks I have issues.  It is getting a little more frequent too.  Of course carbs never seem to bother me- it is always the protein.  I am beginning to avoid meat because of this, and now even eggs.  I don't mind protein shakes too much, but would rather figure out what the issue is.  When I eat them my stomach hurts- and usually pretty quick- before I can start egg number two for example. Then, cramping and what feels like trapped gas (need to burp, but can't type feeling), and usually I end up throwing up.  It last for a few hours.  Any ideas? This crap is happening before or during work and I really need to avoid that given my vocation.

Reflux maybe? I had the same feeling of needing to burp/nausea when mine got bad. I hope it's something that simple!!

I have a bad intolerance to eggs, avocado, pineapple, and bananas and sometimes pork that I've had since I was in my early 20's. I'm 37 now.  (Man I crave eggs like crazy, but the reaction is painful, so I just dream). Anyway, my symptoms are not immediate, but within 10-20 minutes depending if I accidentally eat one of these things. Usually if they are 'hidden' in a recipe. The pain I get is terrible and isn't really like a stomach ache, but a deep intense cramping that feels kind of like lower back pain. It also usually makes me bed ridden because of the severity of the pain and I often throw up. And it lasts a few hours or more. Is this anything like you are feeling?

Good luck though. I totally get your fear of eating those things. Like I said, I crave eggs. I miss eggs. I love eggs and often feel pissed off because I cannot have them, but the thought of the symptoms keep me from eating these things. I do eat pork sometimes, because it only happens about 20% of the time and it isn't as intense as it is with any of the other things on my list.

Can you talk to your surgeon about it? Maybe have him order an upper GI or EGD? It might be a hiatal hernia or a stricture or something - I'm no doctor, so I can't say, but if it just started up, then maybe it needs looked into.

I can understand why carbs wouldn't bother you. They slide right through. I unfortunately discovered that myself just recently. WHOOPS. I thought refried beans had enough protein to give me some restriction; obviously, they do not.
