Hunger

I am over 5 months out and I swear I am hungrier then ever before the surgery, all the time.  Does this constant hunger ever go away?  Any sugestions on foods that help prevent this.  I have also been stressed lately so I am sure that does not help.

Are you on a PPI? Increased acid can cause hunger. I had to change my PPI at about 6 months out because of increased hunger... Something worth looking into.

A PPI is a Proton Pump Inhibitor. It is not the same thing as an antacid. Antacids work for "in the moment" acid (i.e. heartburn), but a PPI is needed to keep acid production at bay. It's important to control reflux (which can appear without heartburn symptoms) because it can cause ulcers in the long term.

If your heartburn came back that means you are having excess acid in the gut...and I guarantee you it's the cause of your "hunger".  I feel ya'; I've posted on here a lot about my horrible acid issues and the games it plays with my head.

OTC antacids aren't going to help you on this one.  You need a PPI to get it under control.
