I'm trying to wean off protein powder. I will need to add  a snack but I'm trying to think what could be dense protein snacks. Are eggs considered dense?  How about cottage cheese?  Thanks, Kathy

I think of dense protein as something that will not dissolve in a glass of water.  Fish, beef, chicken, turkey, hard cheeses (not cottage cheese), whole beans (not refried), deli meats.  I don't eat eggs so someone else will have to answer for that.

Things like greek yogurt are more sliders than dense.

Beef jerky is great snack.  You can get the tender bites if the regular stuff is to hard for you to chew up good

My nutritionist recommended these things called OSTRIM.  I haven't tried them (yet) but I did contact the company and they're sending me some samples :)  From what my nutritionist told me, she said they're a good source of protein, they're satisfying and they're softer than jerky.  The calories are low, the fat content is low and supposedly they taste good.  I'll be the judge of that though, when they come in :)

Ostrim are really good- I can't eat a lot of jerky, as it is hard on the stomach.  Ostrim I can though and the flavor is good.

Neither of those are dense IMHO.  Here are my dense proteins snack frequent uses: turkey pepporini slices, sliced deli meat, cheese (Lowfat string chees with deli meat wrapped around it usually), left over meat from last night's dinner.  Non dense protein snacks: greek light yogurt, kays naturals cinnamon prtezels and other similar produects in the line.

Sometimes I bring meals to work,  but they are usually simple protein snacks. I like string cheese,  cracker barrel extra sharp cheddar bars, boars head chipotle chicken deli meat, meatballs, any type of sliced meat.

I have corned beef leftover from St. Patrick's and I've been having an ounce of that sliced thin.

I also take a greek yogurt because it's easy,  but that's not a dense protein.

hard boiled eggs are great, leftover meats from dinner, tuna and salmon pouches,

I confess I ate a lot of plain greek yogurt and 1% cottage cheese early out. They are not terribly dense, but they are nutritious and satisfied me.
