A REAL pain in the a** - TMI alert

They asked me if I wanted vicodin or something, but the pain is MUCH better now.  I took some liquid tylenol and that seems to be taking the edge off.  Not NEARLY as painful as it was before it was lanced.  OW. :)  I also didn't want to take any narcotics because those tend to have a slowing effect on bowels... so I was scared to take it and end up with ANOTHER embarassing painful hemmy, LOL

Thanks so much, all of you!!  Thanks for making me feel like it's a normal thing!  I really appreciate it!

I can't take aspirin, steroids, or nsaids for at least 12 weeks after surgery.  I'm only 5.

Any ideas on what I should put on it now that it's lanced?

I'd suggest witch hazel (the stuff you can get in the cosmetic aisle works fine) and maybe some aloe gel with lidocaine, the kind they sell for putting on sunburn. I've used those when I've had bartholin cysts lanced (on the outer labia, HOLY SNARF THOSE HURT) and they helped to keep things clean and tone the pain down just a bit.

Ice packs are also super helpful, if a bit silly looking. I use some dry rice in a tube sock with a knot tied in the end and leave it in the freezer overnight, I can tuck it between my buttcheeks while I sit in my recliner and nobody's the wiser! :-p

OMG I had one of those bartholin cysts a few months before surgery.  THOSE hurt like NO PAIN has ever hurt before.  I was so afraid this pain was going to get like that... although it did hurt.. it was NOTHING like that crazy cyst.  I didn't have to have it lanced, but it did burst on it's own (THANK GOODNESS) and it was like instant relief.  This is NOT so instant relief, but the lancing did help... grrr...   Thanks so much for the suggestions!!!!

Preparation H makes some hemorrhoid wipes that contain witch hazel.  I've used them in the past and they do ease the swelling.  I think Walmart and Walgreens have their own generic wipes.  Just make sure it contains witch hazel.

They do make a steroid cream for your bum...analpram is what it's called.  I've used it before and it worked quite well.  See if they can give you that.

Hope you are able to get some relief soon!
