Venting, Monthly Check-ins

OK, so I have had 3 appointments with my nutritionist, surgeon or RN and director. I am still in the 6-month waiting phase. Last appointment was on 2/11/14. At that appointment, I set my next appointment for 3/11/2014 and I was going to take 1 of the nutrition classes on that night, right after the appointment ended, because my surgeon's office is an hour drive from my home. The director called me on 3/9 and said that the surgeon wouldn't be available on the 11th, so she wanted to reschedule my appointment. I rescheduled for 3/24. Well, low and behold, the nutritionist called me on 3/21 and told me she wouldn't be available on the 24th, asked if I could reschedule for 4/24. I said "OK". 

Something told me yesterday, to call the office and verify my appointment for the 24th. I called and talked with the secretary about whether or not my insurance company had approved the surgery and she stepped me through the process I have to go through to get approval (psych eval, blood work, nutrition classes, etc.). Then she says "we haven't seen you since 2/11. If you don't get here soon, you will have to start the process all over again".

Well, this royally pissed me off because THEY are the ones who have been rescheduling my appointments. When I told her that several times, she kept saying, "well you will have to start all over again if you don't come in". What the HADES?! I held it together and now have an appointment next Tuesday. but JEEZ!!!

This is exactly what happened to me!  Because of conflicts with my schedule and the doctor's schedule I wasn't able to get in one month.  The insurance company counted that as a "miss" and I had to start the entire 6 month process all over again because they required "6 consecutive months" :-(  

It's not the doctor's office rule; it's the insurance company.  The second time around I made sure that I set the appointments early in the month (like the first week) so that if anything came up I could still get in during the month.  

 Oh no that's terrible!  I really hope this is okay for you and you don't have to start over :-/  

oh no! im having an issue with im supposed to get my EGD done and the scheduler is so hard to reach. she scheduled me for a date and time that im not able to make. so i tell her please see about scheduling me for an afternoon appointment and i can make it no problem. and this woman only answers EGD questions on monday. i wish you luck. so sorry you going through this. 

Oh Wow.. that would sooo tick me off too..  I'm a bit worried about scheduling appts myself because I work and odd shift during the week. Everything I do Has to be early in the morning before work. I will get furloughed in my job later this year so Im hoping to have all my appointments done by that time.. We'll see what happens... Hang in there Dawn!

Thanks guys :) Tracy, if I have to start over I will be livid! I know you were mad as heck having to start from square one. Especially since they are the ones who kept rescheduling me. Wow LOL. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens...
