Ok an anchor cut is what i thought it was.  my doctor talked about the 3 cuts with the breast anchor cut being one of them.   why does one need a anchor cut?

Could be done for two reasons 1) if you had an open surgery for WLS, it could make the scar better and 2) if you have a lot of lateral skin laxity it could help pull the sides tighter.  My doc thinks that with the removal and stretching it won't be necessary (he has great pics on his website of people without the vertical cut) but we haven't ruled it out as I carried SO much weight in my midsection.

I had a lot of skin droop in that area, so it was done to tighten everything up.  Looks awesome too!

I know you said you don't want any negative feedback, but I think you need to consider rescheduling your surgery.

Some plastic surgeons require you to be at a stable weight for at least 3 months; most require at least 12 months. It's better to lose the weight now (and maintain for several months) rather than losing after surgery. All the work your surgeon does might not look so good if you lose another 20 pounds after surgery.

Good luck to you, whatever you decide. Just don't make this decision because of timing -- make it because it'll give you the best outcome.

P.S. Are you having surgery with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey, Mexico? I'm meeting with him in June in Las Vegas for a consultation. :)

I'm currently taking Topamax and have been for over a year now, but I take mine for headaches/seizures.  My neurologist told me the same thing about possible weight loss due to the medication, but he said it was because your taste buds change due to the medication, not that it had anything to do with curbing your hunger.  More that food would taste different to me, so I wouldn't really want it as much.  I was on it previously (got brain surgery back in 2012) and titrated off of it, without any of the raging hunger you experienced.  I'm back on it now, since the headaches have returned (BOO!), but have never really felt this lack of hunger or change in taste that my doctor described.  I know that medications work differently with everyone, but you may want to look into it a little bit further.  It may not have been the medicine that caused you to gain the weight.  Now steroids on the other hand...  That I totally understand haha.

Good luck to you with your surgeries!  I'm sure you will do great and look fabulous!  I unfortunately have no feedback when it comes to plastic surgery...  But I wish you the best in this next part of your journey!

Oh Hun Topamax made me sooo very stupid and I couldnt talk certain times of the day. I couldnt remember words to say and stutter. I am a professional and it was embarrassing talking to people.  My appetite did open up when i went off topamax. I am food and drug sensitive.     recently i just found out by a holistic doctor all the foods I am allergic to and I was shocked.  these foods create inflammation in the head ... GI track  etc etc  my feet and hands tingled on that stuff, there were times i wanted to say a easy common word and would forget.  my x boyfriend use to point it out all the time.  I was soooo aware...   yes both steriods and topamax getting off the medication did it.  I was not on steroids then I stopped all medication. It was like my body needed to adjust  while i was on topamax my doctor wrote broke through the medication with topamax ( too much to write)   also my liver was highly elevated to the point my doctor was calling me at 9:30 at night to stop.  DANGEROUSLY ELEVATED.  my number was 199.
This is my experience and how my body reacts for a person who "does not" have seizures or headaches...   they put me on it for nerve pain management.

Doc!!!

No one better talk smack or I'll bust a cap!!!!!

My heart goes out to you!!!  You have done amazing well all this time.  Amazing how some things can set us back but you have been thru soooo much!  Hearing of things like this makes me want to shut up about the emotional things that go on in my life because there are others who are going thru way more.

I know a lot about your WL journey and how you gave up sugar and made those amazing green shakes.  You ate so well and filled your body with the vitamins and nutirents you needed that you were even able to stop popping vits because of it.  You are insanely beautfiul, both inside and out.  You have inspired me from the very beginning.

I do believe going thru PS is a traumatic experience.  Weird how I was thinking about TT's myself on the way to work but with my regain, that wouldn't happen for me.  Yes, I gained up to 30 pounds at 1 point.  I didn't go thru what you did, I was separated and divorced but have since then found the most wonderful man.  :)  It seems that most women who have PS are so happy with the results once they are healed.  The scars will fade.  I figure if I have stretch marks from having kids who cares about scars from PS?  Well, that's just me though.

Do what you want and need to do to be happy with yourself.  I might be with the other poster above though, 1AmyLucha1 who says you might want to get the regain off or stablize your weight for a few months before getting plastics.  Ultimately, it's your choice though.  Just think about it and discuss with your doctor on what would be best.

I'll be thinking of you Mary, take care!!!!
