Soup in the Vitamix- on plan and fast

I know, folks are probably sick of the Vitamix posts... but just thowing this out there in case some have considered it for their weight loss process.  I have been making soups in it for a week or so- all using whole foods, no fat unless from cheese... you get the picture.  Very weight loss journey friendly.  Tonight I did the broccoli cheese soup, with the nutrition being 130 cals for 15 grams of protein.  I ended up using the super low cal sliced cheese (kraft) so it would be quite a bit less than the 130 calories.  It was fast and tasty, as all of the verious recipes I have tried so far.

You can get a refurbished Vitamx on their website for $300.  There are more expensive versions, but almost all of those use the exact same motor- just a few more bells and whistles if you need them.  I opted out of the programmed options since I have found I just have no use since the same thing may be accomplished by simply timing it.  Still waiting on my new Vitamix, but my model 3600 is kicking it out and this thing is OLD.

I'm glad to hear your impression of the vitamix. I've been thinking about getting one. I didn't think I would be able to eat soup after surgery though. I read that it is a slider food since it is both liquid and solid. Maybe that is incorrect though. I guess it must not give you any trouble?

I did soup all the way through the weight loss phase and it is a staple in maintenance as well.  No troubles at all.  I wish i would have had it newly post op, because the soup is much better than the high protein cream of chicken option I used :)

That soup sounds awesome.  One of these days I will plunk down the coins for a Vitamix.  Right now we just don't have the room in the kitchen for one--our kitchen is ridiculously tiny. :(

Sounds yummy. I think I'll make this for dinner tomorrow night. I may add in some Ciao Carb Proto Italian Fusilli or some hulled hemp seed or to bump the protein even more.  I definitely want to start using my Vitamix more often.

Any recipe that goes start to finish in under 15 minutes and I am in.  My only beef is that the broccoli cheese soup doesn't make enough for the whole family- so it is only useful when I have some kids missing.
