Single Serve Blender and Fruits
I just ordered a Hamilton Beach single serve blender and was wondering if anyone has used this brand http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-Beach-Single-Serve-Blende r-Red/16553374 I read the reviews and for the most part they are pretty good. Yesterday my nutritionist told me that I need to start incorporating fruits back into my diet. I told her I get fruit that is in my yogurt and that I didn't want to eat a lot of fruit because they are high in carbs. She suggested I eat berries. What kinds of berries are low in carbs? She said stay away from pineapple, apples, mangoes and grapes. Heck, those are my favorites. What kinds of fruits do you all eat that are relatively low in carbs?
On a side note, I saw my doctor last night and he told me that after the insurance company approves my surgery, I can have it the next day. I thought my 6-week insurance wait/requirement was on 6/9. Found out it will be on 7/9 - they don't count the initial consult appointment. Anyways, I have 1 more meeting with surgeon, blood work, and then I think I can get my date!
I asked doc how long I would be off work and what I can lift afterward. He said I can be off as long or as little as I can tolerate, he'd leave that up to me. I told him I would be lifting some computers and monitors this summer. He said go ahead, as long as I felt like it and I am in no pain. I love the nurses, nutritionist and surgeon at Lakeland Weight Loss Center in Niles, Michigan. Between the information the surgeon, nutritionist and this forum have given me, I feel inspired, encouraged and ready for my sleeve.

My favorites are strawberries and blueberries. I mix then with yogurt or put them in my shakes. I have heard about that blender and I saw that it got good reviews. I thought about getting it too because I needed a new blender that wasnt too expensive. I ended up getting one like it but a diff. brand and just a tad bigger.
I have one of those blenders at my office and one on my sailboat. They are great. Use them to add blended ice to my protein shakes (kind of tastes like milk shake) -- although I don't need them much anymore as I eat "regular food" now.
My husband uses the one on the boat to make frozen margaritas! In fact, our dockmates used our blender at a party last month and it made about 15 margaritas (one at a time, of course) like a champ.
The blenders have both served us well.
It will leave ice chunks big enough to chew, but it will do a decent job at a great price-

Thanks for the info everyone. Just picked up 4 bags of frozen peaches, some almond milk and the blender. Can't wait to use it. Have been trying out different whey protein powder shakes and want to try a vanilla flavor with the peaches tomorrow morning.

I just used my blender with a cup of frozen peaches, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 1 scoop Syntrax Matrix Simply Vanilla protein powder. YUM! Mixed with no chunks whatsoever. So far, I love this blender, the best $15 I have spent in a long time.

Not weird White Dove, sounds yummy! I made iced coffee with frozen coffee ice cubes, unsweetened vanilla flavored almond milk and sugar free caramel syrup for a snack today. Going to experiment with different things this weekend. Love it so far.
