Loser's Bench party of 2.
My wife and I discharged to home today. Each day a little improvement. I had some blood pressure problem which was scary. My wife had a drug reaction which was just miserable. We made it through to the loser's bench! Now on with the healing. And losing.

That is one of my biggest fears of having the surgery, my blood pressure meds. I read that I won't be able to swallow my pills until at least 2 days after surgery. I take a beta blocker, I need them daily or my heart rate goes up rapidly. I can't chew or break up my pill, must be swallowed whole. Glad you're doing better and congratulations to both of you and keep us posted on your progress.
I had that fear too. They gave me something IV to control my heart rate and it bottomed out my pressure. 62/39. I was so lightheaded that I would lift my head off of the bed and room would kinda white wash out. They turned the drip and gave me a couple of normal saline boluses. On my second day post op I could swallow half of my beta blocker at a time. Haven't needed my regular bp meds yet.

So as of today, are you taking any bp meds? I heard that many people don't need their regular medication after surgery. My medication requires that I gradually go off, can't do cold turkey. Sounds like you are off to a good start. Hope your wife is doing well too. Good luck and keep up the good work.
Haven't needed my regular bp meds. I am talking a beta blocker for heart rate that helps with bp as well. I plan to frequently monitor and contact my PCP though all of this. I feel like I will need them as I am able to hydrate more. My wife is doing well. She is able to take more liquid than me. That has never happened.
