More about hair

I know most of you are probably sick of posts about hair loss but I can't help but ask another question.  So I'll be 6 months post op on the 30th and last week I had to have my gall bladder taken out.  I have been losing hair since about the 3.5 month mark and my hair is getting thinner every day.  Will it get worse due to the anesthesia from gall bladder surgery?  If the hair loss stops next week will it start back up again in 3 months?  My hair feels so unhealthy these days it's absolutely depressing.  Every time I put a comb or brush through my hair I want to cry.  Hell, every time I run my hands through my hair a couple strands come out.  WTF!

I am only 3.5 weeks out from vsg but I've had my GB out previously .  I didn't find that i lost any hair from that surgery. i think it had to do more with our large hormonal shifts caused by losing weight. Just like after i stopped breast feeding (tmi?) I lost a good bit of my hair. .

I just checked out the web site. $45 dollars for shampoo with some oils in it?  There is nothing that you can put on your hair that will stop it from falling out when it is due to Telogen Effluvium. The health of your hair comes from inside your body. This stuff doesn't even have Minoxidil (which I dislike but actually helps grow hair).

It would be much less expensive to buy some almond oil for $2 and add it to your shampoo of choice.

Exactly what is the wonder it worked for you?

My hair was thinning, I used the oil every other day like they instructed and my hair started to grow back and thicker.  It may not have what YOU think it should but it does work. Don't knock it unless YOU have tried it yourself!

It has nothing to do with "what I think". It is scientifically impossible.  You cannot reverse Telogen Effusion with shampoo and oils.  It is just as likely that your hair would have grown back thicker if you had applied cottage cheese or Elmer's Glue to your head.

In the past, I have lost every hair on my head because of chemo therapy.  When it grew back it was thicker and wavy.  This is because Telogen Effusion is temporary.  It goes away on it's own when you reduce your stress, get the right nutrients, stop taking the drugs that caused it or get past the surgery that caused it. The hair that falls out today died 3 months ago.  It takes that long to shed.

If you like the way your shampoo smells or it makes your hair look shinier because of the oil then that is fine.  Telling anyone that it made your hair grow is simply not true even if you have spent a fortune on it and convinced yourself that it is. I believe you need to do a little more research before you try to convince others to spend hundreds of dollars on packaging, oils and marketing.

LIES YOU TELL!!!! First off I can tell if something works or not! Second science or text books can not 100% determine if something works or bot. I have proven science wrong soooooo many times! If something worked for me, I am going to share it! You haven't tried it so you need not to respond to what I wrote.  Just because nothing has worked for you doesn't mean what I found doesn't actually work. You sound like a bitter person. This is not your post and you shouldn't be discouraging others because of your bitterness! You're an example to why I hardly get on here. Ppl like you ruin it for others trying to uplift ppl and share what worked for them. Kerp your negativity and condescending comments to yourself!

You shouldn't get on here because you spout nonsense.

How do I spout nonsense when I was the one attacked for something that worked  for  ME! I shared it with the person that posted the original feed. There's no need for any negative comments.  Get your life. If you don't agree with what I said continue to scroll down and disregard what I said. I have been out for 9 months and hit my goal at 6 months. I have done great and just trying to share some tips!

Your 'goal' was 68 pounds lost - great you met your goal - but for reality that's not much in the wls world.

To answer the OP - yeah you may very well lose more after gallbladder surgery.  Anesthetic does cause hair loss in some people - me for one.
