I usually eat 800 calories or less a day and no carbs. I'm not strict but I definitely control my calories. Get the my fitness pal app and track everything. I over estimate calories to be safe. My Nut told me I could have 1100 calories a day and that slows us way down or puts us in maintenance.

I'd keep calories under 800 as well. Most of that should be protein.

That's a really good amount of weight loss so far! I think you're doing a great job!

Seeing a therapist who deals with bariatric patients and understands the before and after lifestyle and challenges will definitely help. I hope your surgeon can give you a good recommendation.  And even just hanging out here and on other forums are a great means of support.  I read forums daily and have ever since the day I decided to start checking into what this surgery was all about. I don't post usually, but I read everything and it has helped me through it all. :)

I did a keto style diet a few years back.  Post-surgery I now only eat lean proteins and cheese and find that I am full for a long time.  My surgeon was super strict as far as eating plans for post-surgery and I've stuck to it to the letter because I know one bite of carbs, sugar, etc would be a slippery slope for me.  I don't count my calories but know that they are on the low side - probably only 500-600, but this early out I can't really eat very much at all.

Hello, I have been reading posts here for awhile and finally decided to post. I had sleeve surgery on 07/26/16 and I don't feel my weight-loss is where it should be and I am very discouraged. I have been hearing/reading about the K e t o diet and was wondering if anyone here has tried it, if it works, and how would I get started with it. Thanks in advance for any info. Have a great day!!!

what are you eating for healthy snacks?

I eat string cheese, beef jerky, carrots  fruit and pork rinds when I am craving chips. I also eat almonds.

I would drop the carrots and fruit. They are pure sugar.

I ate only protein and low carb vegetables until I lost all the weight I wanted to lose.

Also pork rinds can't be counted towards protein total as they are collagen protein.
