I hear that. I'm so sick of dealing with insurance companies that either refuse to cover or will have soooo many stipulations that the process will go on forever. I am currently uninsured and could get insurance, but most of them have a year clause for pre-existing conditions- and I'm sick of waiting. When is your surgery scheduled for? How long did you have to stay on the wait list?

My surgery is scheduled for August 31st. I could have had it this month, but wanted to wait til school starts back. There really wasn't a 'wait list', it was basically up to me. You should definitely check them out, they have a website if you type nwwls in google it'll pop up.

Alot of doctors don't have much of a wait , but some do . Dr. Oh has an aprox. 3 month wait after the orientation & consultation . But there are a lot of tests to be done in the meantime .

I'm having mine done by Puget Sound Surgical Clinic, and it is $16, 430 and that includes everything/fills/nutrition/surgery/etc for the whole first year. They have a website that explains it all. SD

julie- i just had my lap band done by dr montgomery at nwwls and the people there were fantastic. There was a huge difference between having it done at their surgical center and in the hospital. It was so much better at the surgical center. You will have nurses (I had about 3) at all times with you and their focus is on you and you alone. I saw the MD and the anesthetiologist multiple times after my surgery because they do not overbook so they have time to spend with you. I had so much personal attention from them I was shocked. I have had surgery before in a hospital setting and it was an excellent hospital but the attention couldn't compare. I took longer than the average person to wake up and they in no way rushed me so I was there all day, my choice. they made me feel like I could take my time. By the way the first year's fills are included. You will have a really good experience. Take care, oh if you have any questions let me know [email protected] i was self pay too.
