For those of us orphaned by the WISH center, I was wondering if anyone knew of a support group that we could attend? Anyone interested in starting a support group? That is the one thing I am upset about with the WISH center closing. I was looking forward to having the support of other WLS patients to ask questions, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Ronica, I also hope to find a support group near your area also, as I may be moving back to the south end of Seattle. Hopefully, new patients with Dr. Alperovich will all want to form something right there at Valley Medical. Otherwise, the nearest meeting I know of is at VitaLady in Puyallup. A little too far to drive for me.

I got a response from someone who has a support group at Virgina Mason. She will be sending me more info. I will forward on to you once I get it.

Ronica, Dr. Alperovich is working with Valley to restart the support groups for WISH patients. He has re-opened the clinic as a Valley medical center clinic and continues to care for all the WISH patients.

Jennene, I appreciate the information. I actually have an appointment with Dr Alperovich on Wednesday for my follow up appointment and was going to inquire about this exact subject. I am really happy to hear that Dr. A is doing this for his patients. I have to say that I am very impressed with the way he has handled this situation. It just goes to show that he is a very compassionate man and is genuinely concerned about the well being and success of his patients. Ronica
