i added pictures of me
Hey, Christie - Don't be ashamed at all!! We all started out at weights that we didn't want to be at and I think we all have shied away from the camera!! I know I sure did - I usually made sure I was the one taking the pictures and not the one having a picture taken!! You'll appreciate having these "before" pictures later! I really like it when people add pictures to their profiles - since we usually only meet each other in cyberspace, it's nice to have faces to put with the names! Also, I'm sorry to hear that your diabetes is not doing well on the meds you've been on. But don't get discouraged... I have heard that for many diabetics, the surgery is a lifesaver. Fortunately, I did not have diabetes prior to surgery and I'm hoping that I never will, but it is in my family history. Just follow your dr's orders and keep on moving through the journey you are on. Wishing you all the best!

Hi Christie~
NEVER BE ASHAMED!!!
Every single one of us has been at this point. Be proud of the changes you are making in your life. When I uploaded my "day of surgery" pics..I was very sad. I wondered how in the H**L did I let myself get to this point. For all of us here, I think it is huge to own what we look/looked like to help us in never going back to that place.
It is really easy to get comfortable with our new self. I find that now, the daily reminder helps keep me going. I don't ever want to go back to the way I was. If I don't keep the reminders around..oh how easy it would be to forget.
Take care and know that the people on this site are here to support you in every way..and I have to say they are all a GREAT bunch

You hang in there! If we all looked like models we wouldn't be here on OH so you are in excellent company. Your life is about to change forever with whatever surgery you decide on and it will be for the better. Just look at that big grin on your son's face, he doesn't care what you look like, he just loves his mommy. Soon you'll have a big cheesy grin yourself!
