I got a letter yesterday from my surgeon, Dr. Mark Macfarlane, stating that due to the rising malpractice insurance costs, he will no longer be able to accept Medicare/Medicaid patients. I feel like I have to start all over!!! I was hoping to get the 30 pounds off by March and have the Laparoscopic done then, but now what?? Any suggestions for new surgeons who accept Medicare/Medicaid are greatly appreciated. Cindy

Hi Cindy, I am so sorry your Doctor quit WLS. My doctor is Dr. Oh in Federal Way Washington.. He is a wonderful surgeon and has completed over 5000 surgeries. I am not sure if he accepts Medicare/Medicaid. I might use Google and type in "Weight Loss Surgery Doctors who accept Medicare/Medicaid" and it should bring up doctors that accept your method of payment. Take care and God Bless Janice B

I don't know if you want to go all the way into Spokane but i used Dr. Andrew bright at Rockwood Clinic. I don't know if he takes Medicare/Medicaid patients or not.
