Pills, tablets, capsules???....Please answer quickly......
OK.....I know that distals can't take regular pills and capsules like the rest of the world. SO please refresh my memory on how fast they have to be able to dissolve inwater for them to be useful? I have some capsules that take 8 minutes....is that long enough? I really cant gag them when I open them and put them inwater....not these particular ones. And....."on an empty stomache"....I realize that my stomache is empty when I first wake up....so how long do I wait after taking the meds? And then when is my stomache considered empty agin....how long with no food? Thanks for the help. Sharlene
I would think as far out from surgery as you are that you wouldn't have to worry about this any more. I was released to return to taking my previous vitamins (including the horsepills) once I was fully healed from RNY surgery. I don't cut any of mine up any more, and my lab values have always been just fine.

alot of times I take mine capsules or larger tablets with a warm liquid. For some reason it is stuck in my mind they will disolve better this way. Go figure, my mind is sometimes a little off key. I drink coffee or make up sf hot cocoa every once in a while. It seems to really help me if I am having sinus troubles and want to "think" that the pills are gonna make my head stop pounding faster this way. Even though the warmth is probably making me just feel better to begin with......but it works for me.
By the way, has anyone taken the Z pack antibiotic since surgery? I am wondering if the first strong dose has made anyone have a tummy ache????
Good luck Sharlene....
