Home and Thank You
I want to take this time to thank all of you for your prayers , cards, visits and gifts .
I was discharged from NIH Monday evening . I am at home recovering from the surgery and getting used my new medicines to sustain my life .
This has been the longest 3 weeks of my life . My life will now forever be changed . I am learning how to manage lifes stresses and recognize the symptoms of adrenal crisis .
You all have no idea what your kind words meant to me . I came online and read them today from Alan's post ...
Each day I received stacks of cards , this was the highlight of my stay .. and really did cheer me up .
The gifts , the charms .. the cards drawn by children ... mean so much to me ..
Thank you to those that took the time to visit me . Seeing your smiling faces and getting your hugs of encouragment .. touched me deeply .
This is going to take some time to get adjusted too , I am still pretty weak . But I just wanted you all to know that I have been thinking about you .. and thanking God Each day that you all are my family ..
I do need your help though. Do to some of the testing , they required me to come off my vitamins and iron suppliments . I am now severly anemic and my protein levels area down to 4.6. This I can work on , but the iron ... ?? Does anyone know of a good suppliment that does not bind you .. up . Any help would be appreciated .
Many thanks ,
Natalie
Sorry to hear that you have been ill. I hope your recovery is swift and that you enjoy a long and healthy life. Keep the faith.
Sorry I can't answer your protein question. I don't find my protein powders are hard on my bowels. I use Cytosport Vanilla Bean protein powder.
Best wishes for continued good health.

Natalie--I am so very happy to see that you are home and feeling better. I have never been anemic but I take Solgar gentle iron regulary. I also take a stool softener on a regular basis as I have major "binding" issues with all iron-even this. It is my understanding that once we are really anemic--most of us will need the IV iron in order to get the levels back up. What does your doc say about this?
Good luck and hope your recovery continues.
