if you use a luncheon sized plate or a saucer as your plate--you can "fill" it and feel like you have a full plate--yet you are not using a full sized dinner plate...tricking the mind!!!! so many of us still have minds that want full to overflowing plates of food!!!proportion --portion control... tryi it!

All I know is that I am chowing today...lol. I do have to say that I am going to the gym shortly to do an intense workout prior to eating. I have done really well lately and do not feel the least bit bad about being able to eat stuffing today. I have stopped celebrating my birthday like i used to. No more cake and ice cream for me. Gave that up years ago. I know that tomorrow I will pick up where I left off. I eat at my sisters so there will be no leftovers. That is my saving grace.

So true!! We celebrate so many holidays/events with food, sometimes its hard to stay on track. Something ive been telling myself is "Is it really worth it???" Lol it seems to help me. Is that cake, cookie, chip, pretzel....whatever REALLY worth gaining a pound or two? Is it REALLY worth getting off track? Are the few moments of enjoyment REALLY worth the moment on the lips forever on the hips lol? Hope you had a good holiday!!

The power is ours and I feel like as long as I generally make the right choices over time, I'll be fine long term. For me, that means I ate more yesterday than I usually eat in a day. And I ate some dessert, which I do every now and then. But today, I brought salmon and broccoli for lunch, and I'm going to the gym this afternoon. The old me would have eaten 4 times as much food yesterday, then packed a huge lunch of turkey-related leftovers today. And go to the gym? Not the old me - she would have been planted at home on the couch watching tv, grazing on leftovers all day and probably well into the night. The new me realizes that it's not the end of the world if I treat myself occasionally, but that I must make better day-to-day choices. It's all about maintaining a healthy balance - Kellie
