Grads-Year Out Survey ..
How many years post op are you ? I am 3.5 years out
How much weight have you lost .. I have lost 143lbs hallf of my original self
Your biggest struggle .. Getting in my liquids and protein and keeping weight on
You biggest wow moment .. When my step-granddaughter raided my closet when she was here for the summer.

Hi everyone,
Just got home from a 2-day shopping trip w/ my sisters and flopped down to catch up on the latest postings, so I'll add my $ .02 worth!
I'm almost 2.5 years post-op.
I lost 140 lbs. but am working on my 25-lb. regain.
My biggest struggle is resisting the bad carbs, which unfortunately do not make me dump. I did great my first 1 1/2 yrs., but once I let them start to creep back in, it's gotten harder & harder to "go back." My 2nd biggest struggle is staying committed to working out/exercising.
My biggest WOW moment--one day while going thru some old college clothes of my 2 daughters (they are in their mid-20's now), I decided to try a few of them on, and some of them fit!
Great post!
Jo

I am 16 months out. I've lost 110 lbs give or take from surgery, and 125-130 from my highest weight. My surgery date was Sept 15, 2005.
My biggest struggle throughout the journey has been keeping my focus on what I needed to do in the midst of chaos. In the last three years, I've been through 5 hurricanes, had my house flood, had three sales of my home fall through, finally sold that home ,had several family members die including my father, got laid off from my job, travelled nearly 100k miles, moved cross-country, packed & moved TWO households, spent six months looking for a new job, and finally got employed.
During all of THAT is when I researched WLS, decided on the DS, found a great surgeon in Brazil, had surgery and spent 16 months losing & learning about my new lifestyle.
My biggest Wow moment - hard to say.....when I found out how much my cholesterol had dropped at six months out? Or when I finally hit size 10.....that was my mother's size, and I haven't been my mom's size since 6th grade.

Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I am just over 1 year postop. My anniversary date was January 20th 2006.
I have lost a total of 110 pounds from my highest weight. Am in a size 12 now and I am happy with that. It has been a long time.
My recent wow moment was fitting in the size 12 as I had been at a standstill for several months, only losing 1-2 pounds a month. Then after my vacation to Cabo San Lucas I lost 11 pounds without trying. I just needed that vacation.
I have not had any dumping and can eat just about anything. I am not having a problem with eating a lot of anything as I have lost the craving for many of the things I used to love.. Ice cream used to be a big thing and now a spoon or two and thats all I want, and seldom.
If I keep losing I wont know what to do as I have always been at least a size 9-10, and that was in my 20's. I am 66 years old now and I hope I dont have a problem with getting too thin.
How many years post op are you ? 5.5
How much weight have you lost .. Lost 264 lbs, but regained over 45
Your biggest struggle .. Happens to have nothing to do with WLS.. so keeping it close to subject matter, its the regain.
You biggest wow moment .. There were so many, I should have embraced them more. Nothing is standing out at the moment.
I'm a year and a half out from surgery.
I had lost 158 pounds when I got to my lowest (123 pouds). Now I weigh 132 which is a loss of 149 pounds.
My biggest struggle is night time eating. I eat way too many carbs way too often at night.
My biggest wow moment was buying jeans from the regular section in Old Navy. They were a 16, but I felt sooooooo good!

Hi, all!
I'm almost 3-1/2 years out. Surgery was 9/11/03.
I lost 110 pounds, including weight lost prior to surgery.
My biggest struggle(s) are addiction to sugar and learning to maintain my weight loss.
Biggest wow moment was shopping in the "regular" misses department for the first time in nearly 25 years!! I was crying in the dressing room!

I am 1.5 years post op.
Down 135 lbs - give or take a pound and a half from week to week.
Biggest struggle would be grazing - It still takes a concious effort to NOT GRAZE.
Biggest wow moment - oh boy - any time I fit into a small space with room to spare, having wiggle room in my seats, crossing my legs, being below my surgeon's goal for myself and below my own goal for myself... I can't just name one! Feeling "normal" now.
Reading all the post I guess I'm the oldest grad, ie; post op and age....lol
Years post op-- I'm 5 years and 7 months post op (and 60 years old)
weight lost-- I originally lost 145 pounds with a regain of 30-35
Biggest struggle- Keeping determined not to gain more
Biggest WOW- being told I looked "skinny, still pretty, but skinny"
Thanks for caring and it was fun to read and participate,
