I adjust my diet daily to keep my weight where it is. And, because I've never gotten my appetitie back, I struggle to remember to eat. I'll take this struggle over the one I fought a few years ago anyday!

If I am talking, watching TV or anything else distracting, I tend to forget that I am differently wired than those around me! Eating too fast makes me uncomfortable, usually makes me purge, and then I can come back and finish my food at a normal rate of consumption!

pat rny in georgetown 11-07-2002 5 years 335 highest weight 150 was my goal weight 292 is my current weight only lost less than 50 pounds from this surgery!!!  and was promised i would... My biggest struggle is the disappointment from the medial open RNY surgery I had as I had hoped to have lost at least a hundred pounds.  After 3 months, I lost nothing more.  They promised my stomach would stay the size of a lemon at the maximum.  This is not true.  Now, I can eat a foot long sub at Subway.  The stomach does, in fact, stretch out in time.  My daughter lost 100 pounds, but she gained half of hers back.  So, I wonder about the people who have not had good luck with the surgery...they should post too because had I known what I know now, I would have never had this surgery.  Thanks....  Still dieting...Pat
