4 Year Anniversary

It seems like a long time ago, and I barely remembered, but it was 4 years ago today that I had my gastric bypass surgery.  It's been a great journey so far.  I'm so glad I had the surgery.  My only regret is that I didn't have it sooner than I did.   I started out at 314, lost 140 pounds and have gained back about 25 pounds that I'm going to try and get rid of this summer.  I've had some greatly needed plastic surgeries... a full tummy tuck, a breast lift, and then some revisions to those surgeries just recently.  I'm done.  No more surgeries for me.  The rest of the sagging skin will just have to sag.  heh.... Hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Take care, Vickie in Anchorage

Happy 4 year anniversary! You have done so well and must feel so great. If you don't mind my asking, why were revisions necessary after your PS? All the best  for continued success and the loss of those extra 25lbs. Sher

Sher, Revisions might have been the wrong word to use.  I had a full tummy tuck in April of 2005 which left me with some dog ears on my hips.  I also had a breast lift in October of 2006.  My PS did a lollipop cut on my breasts which left some excess skin at the base that she said would need to be removed later.  My PS was going to do these touch ups in the office, but at the time of my examination we noticed some lumps from my last surgery and so we decided to go ahead and do biopsies on them both... which then... the insurance paid for!  How clever.  So she did all the touch up work at the same time.  The lumps were fat necrosis which she removed and I guess which is common after breast surgeries.  So... the extra skin from below my breasts are gone now... the lumps are gone and my dog ears are gone.  I'm glad I wasn't awake for these procedures either, I do much better when I'm asleep.  heheh... there was no down time either.  I went right back to work. Take care, Vickie
