Hello,   I soon as I saw the title to the post, I thought, did she have the same surgeon as me? and sure enough, you did. I love the time out from dr. warnock. I am at 2 1/2 years out and anytime I am even 2-3 lbs. over my goal I do it, just to recenter myself and get those lbs. off. I recommend this to almost everyone I talk to who has had rny. I am glad you are doing so well with it. Congrats to you for taking control!  Hugs, Bridget

Bridget, Isn't Dr. W incredible?  I live in Dallas and believe me, making the trip to Wichita Falls is so worth it.  I just wish he had had the time out protocol in place earlier in my journey.  I am so pleased with the results so far and believe me, in the future I will be like you and not let it get beyond 2 or 3 pounds and back on the protein.  Of course, unfortunately, I stll have a long way to go before I worry about that but this time I have complete confidence that I will make it. Hi Patty Congrats on doing so well!  You are an inspiration to all of us who are reading your thread and determined to lose the unwanted pounds that have creeped back on! Just one question......Since all you are consuming are the Nectar shakes and Crystal Light, how do you control craving your daily cup of coffee?  (I am asuming you drink either coffee or tea)   I was not able to start on the program last week like I wanted to because I had gotten sick and don't think I would have handled the liquid diet very well mentally because I was feeling lousy and don't think I could have stayed focused; but, I am DETERMINED to start this program THIS WEEK!  WOW, 16 lbs in 12 days?  EXCELLENT!  Now, if I could be so lucky that would bring me down past my own personal goal of 150!  I will keep you posted as to how I do, I am just waiting for my Nectar shakes to arrive via Parcel Post, as soon as it comes, I start the very next day! Keep up the great work!  You should be very proud of yourself!  It is not easy to stay focused but you have overcome that obstacle with flying colors! Hugs----

I do drink coffee normally but when I want it in the mornings, I have a Cappucino Latte Nectar in its place. Good luck on your efforts. Patty

Hi Patty! This is so interesting!!!  How are you doing on your Timeout as of today?  How many pounds down? I would like to do this myself.  I am 14 months out and 10 pounds from goal.  I think it will help me get the last 10 pounds off.  I have already had carbs trying to creep back into my life!!!  It's gotta stop now!!! I think it would be neat to start a group Timeout! Sounds like others are interested in this too...I am giong to start tomorrow with the Nectars and achieve ones... do ya think we could take a Timeout rollcall??? Shelley

Hi Shelley, That sounds great!  I'd love to be part of a Timeout rollcall.  I just received my Nectar and I'm starting tomorrow.  Count me in!   Good luck to you all!  I know that we can do it! Lori

Hi Lori!   This is wonderful to have others to do this with!  it is so motivating!!!  I am doing great today, and I feel good...I had my achieveone drink this am.  I will have the nectar for lunch, not hungry, and doing fine. How are things going for you? Shelley

Hi Shelley, Great job today!  The first few days are the most challenging, I think.  Keep up the good work.  It's worth it! Ok, so I half did the program today, not good enough!  I have the fuzzy navel Nectar drink and I am waiting for Lemonade and Strawberry Kiwi to arrive any day now.  So, I only had one drink today...but tomorrow will have 3 drinks.  I am also adding a low carb, low sugar yogurt with 2 tablespoons of flax oil for a snack.   That's it though....So, my caloric intake should be around 350-400 calories.  I will still have my coffee in the morning with a little cream (1 cup only).  My wonderful husband (who does not need to fast) said that to support me he will also do protein drinks for most of the day!   We both work together so it will be easier at lunch if he's not eating.  The drink really is good though and fills me up.  My husband likes it a lot too. I'll look forward to checking with you tomorrow to see how we both did!!!   I think I'll have a nice cup of salada decaf tea and relax! Have a good night, Lori in NH :)

I would love to start a time out myself, but I have a concern with such low calories and protein, etc. causing a drastic slowdown in metabolism. Has your surgeon addressed this and explained why such a program won't lead to a problem with metabolism especially when you add foods back into your diet ? I know when we diet, and then start eating more after we reach our goal, we've all gained not only the weight back, but even more than we weighed to begin with.  Thank you for any answer you can give me on this point.

This is not intended for long term - just for getting a big boost back in the right direction.  He will add a salad a day back after two more weeks and then later will take away another protein drink and add small amounts of solid protien.   Did your metabolism totaly shut down when you had the surgery?  We got very few calories then.  I have suggested that everyone talk with their doctor before starting this.  I do know that my metabolism is very sluggish and I have to do drastic things to lose and to not gain.  I gain on 1000 calories a day. If you have real concerns, talk with your surgeon about what you should do. Patty
