No regrets here. I only wish this exact surgery was available 25 years ago. It was the best thing I could of ever done for myself.

Don't regret it, and would do it all over again. What I wish is that at the seminar before surgery or during a surgeon consult that someone would have warned me about the hypoglycemia that Vitalady mentioned.  I think some surgeons are looking into this as a long term post op complication.  When I called the office with the symptoms of cold sweating, dizziness, sometimes feelings of immediate diarrhea and mental fogginess they said it was dumping.  I hadn't had a 'real' sugar in eight months and I was offended.   I finally talked with the nutritionist and she had me do a protein mixed with a good carb in between meals.  For me, that was a couple of apple slices and a cheese stick.  I haven't had an episode in over a month.  I was having them every morning around 10am.  But, it was a sovable problem for me.  I just wi**** was talked about upfront.   No  regrets.  Wish i had done it sooner. This post is great timing.  I just had a lady tell me how she was a nurse and I need to do my research because most people the have wls live to regret it and have lots of problems.  She is just going to stay fat. (her words not mine)

ps. I told her that I've done my research and said this is why I don't tell people I'm having the surgery. Then I stopped talking to the loud mouth.

My only regret is that I didn't pay more attention to the "RULES."  I thought (for a while) that the surgery was magic, and that I wouldn't regain weight.  Of course, I have regained, but that's MY fault, not the surgery's.  I'm still so much better off - still 100 pounds less than my heaviest adult weight, and under 200 pounds, which I hadn't been in 25 or more years! Not a single one.  AND, I would have the surgery annually if that's what was necessary to maintain the result!  I've never felt better.

Don't like the headaches that came with it but I still would do it again. Kim
