Modified Time Out findings

Hi all I have been doing a very modified Time Out......I have been doing protein shakes in the morning, which are keeping me so FULL that I have to make myself eat at lunch time!  YEAH!!!  Then for lunch, I have salad plus lean protein, mod. fat.  no carbs and NO sugar.  Then the same for dinner and protein shakes in between.  I guess Time Out is not the right name but it is a T.O. for me b/c I am staying far away from sugar and refined carbs.  I am also trying to get my water in, although I could stand to drink more. The good news is, I have NO desire to eat sweets or starches and I am FULL!!!  Plus, i have finally broken my weight plateau.  I will confess however, this past Monday, we had cake at work, and I decided to try some to see if it would make me sick (OK, poor excuse).   I took 3 bites and when I tell you I could tell as soon as 10 minutes of eating, I started to get nauseated and jittery, like I did immed. post op.......I was actually happy about it though!  I have not had any sugar since.  This is really working for me, although I think next week, i will maybe trying to replace lunch with a protein shake to see if I can stick with it and increase the weigtht loss. Just wanted to share, I am not recommending anyone follow this, it is just that it is helping me..... Good luck to everyone! Lorri

Sounds like it is working for you.  You know, we all have to find out what works for us.  Isn't it great to lose the desire for the junky foods? Patty

How long have you been doing this, and how much have you lost?

Hi Well, I've been doing this for about 3 weeks or so.  I was just counting calories before this, but eating whatever I wanted, and I couldn't lose anything!  I was only eating 1200 to 1400 cal per day, but my weight wouldn't budge, even though I was working out.  So maddening!!!  So, I thought I would try this.  The real Time Out as spoken about on this message board is 3 protein shakes a day and nothing else bu****er.  For me, at least right now, my modified version is working....I may  try it next week if my weight stalls.  I have lost about 5 pounds in the  past 2 and a half weeks, which isn't a ton of weight, but it broke my plateau and I am no longer craving all the junk!  Anyhow, maybe you could try it or try something similar to see if it helps you....... Good luck!!!   Lorri

because: a calories is a calorie is invalid thinking for the morbidly obese. you can take in 300 cal/day only in carbs and gain, but 1300 in pritein and lose!

we dn't absorb all the protein we take in, but at least it remains protein.

every speck of sugar is absorbed thom since the process begins in the mouth, (think sublingual)

our liver/pancreas do not process (burn) carbs like normies. we store them

That is true isn't it?  I guess I never really thought of it that way before........I also have tried to follow the advice you gave me about having a protein shake between meals to cut the craving of carbs and it does work!!!!!  You have really helped me alot!  I hope your arm is healing well and you are feeling ok. Thanks and take care! Lorri
