S- protein bar at the gym
L- crab and shrimp salad with low cal dressings.. =-)
S- 2 protein balls
D- carnatas with cheese and a bite of beans
S- gee ... what did i have.. oh yeah.. ice cream...lol.. im so bad...
totals.... calories....1,236 carbs.....61 fat...... 55 protein.... 122
drank about 80 oz of fluids.. not as good as usual.
Went to the gym.. did 30 on elipitcal and supersets on legs for 45 minutes.. I took it easy since my daughter was with me and I hadnt been all week..

I do make them eat healthy with a little twist.. they get the pasta's I wont eat and they get dessert every night.. helps motivate bob to try new food.. I do make sf desserts and do portion control with them.. they are both doing well at eating more healthy.
The girls are different.. my youngest would only eat veggies if I let her.. tomatos and pickles.. my oldest is only a hundred pounds at 5'3' so she is a skinny as a rail and is always trying to gain weight. I make her eat a sandwich every night before she goes to bed and give her snacks to take to school everyday. If I didnt she would be below 100 pounds.. She is very active and a third degree black belt.
This journey has changed my whole families life I think.. they are all more health conscious and my partner gets worried when she gains 5 pounds and she is not over weight at all.. They are eating better foods that are more healthy. I love that fact a lot...
They are however yelling at me all the time about my weight.. they think I need to stop loosing.. and my doctor yelled at me on thrusday and told me to stop loosing.. I think they are just not use to seeing me skinnier..lol
Got a question for you... I bought some fresh baked marble rye bread yesterday.. I couldnt resist even though I have not tried to eat a piece of bread yet. Do you eat bread and what do you think about me trying to eat a piece of bread in sandwich form.. I am scared it will hurt my tummy but I know rye is a good bread. Should I give it a try..
Hey Carla,
1st as to the bread question...I severely limited bread of any kind for the 1st year, but my doc and nut admonished me about how bread can ball up and block the stoma opening, that scared me so I was not willing to try it...Probably about 13-14 months out I was still trying to work on ways to keep in a maintenance plan and I decided that I would give bread a try again, I never eat it unless I toast it 1st, toasting changes the texture so it is not so sticky to me...So as of now, yes, I do eat bread, again not often, go for whole grains and freshly made rather than processed white bread and usually only eat in a toasted form, although I do very occasionally eat a dinner roll...Give it a try, only eat a little piece, chew well and give it time to see how it settles before trying the next bite, it will probably be OK and will offer a little something new to your post-op diet...
Wow, as for all this other things in the post...It's amazing to me how I find out things about others and can really match them up to pieces of my life, that is definately part of what makes OH support so great to me...I have 2 boys, both getting a little hefty, not really overweight yet but you can see the tendency to getting there and I worry for them, cause, hey, been there, done that, right...My oldest son is also Autistic, he has high functioning autism and we are working steadily with our school community to help him to be an independent adult ( I think he will get there, it will be in stages, but he functions well enough that I beleive it is possible)...My younger son is also a "sneak" eater, I too find wrappers hidden under the bed or pushed under stuff in the trash so I won't realize he has been eating alot more the just 1 serving of things he likes, strangely sweets are not his downfall, but he is definately a carbaholic, at typical example might be him telling me he will have a piece of bread of butter for his afternoon snack and me coming home to find 1/2 the loaf was eaten...
I too work on helping them learn what is correct portions and how to make healthy choices, I do allow dessert every night in exchange for eating some of everything served for dinner, even if it is something they really do not like...
Thanks for sharing a little piece of your personal life and for asking my opinion on the bread question...If you decide to take the leap, good luck with that first small taste of bread, remember to eat it slow, savor it and enjoy the taste and texture...
Alesia
