Anyone Losing Too Much Weight?

Hi Lisa- Isn't it a curious thing that there's absolutely no "science" to when the "losing window" closes? For some it's 12 months and then anything between 12-24 months goes also. I'm sure my time will be ending soon (I'm 17 months now) and this worry about losing weight will end. I seem to eat all day long too and it's all good, healthy food. Not a lot of calories though so that's what I'm trying to concentrate on right now. Thanks to you, and all the other posters, for taking the time to send me your thoughts- I really appreciate it! Ohhhh yes, the dreaded "you look too thin" issue.....always interesting, isn't it? I had everyone under the sun tell me I looked dreadful at 140....everyone except my lupus doctor who said he was very proud of me, I was very brave to have had the surgery, I added years to my life, and that I was in the "normal" range according to the BMI charts. So, or course, my brain decided to listen to the critics and I have promptly given myself (sub-conciously I think) permission to gain 30 lbs and am now in the over weight category...size 10-12 but still.....so I saw my lupus/arthritis doctor at my three month check and he said, "ohhh Laurie.....don't let that weight creep up." Also so my hemotolgist who echoed with my rhumatologist said...so, all in all yes, even at goal weight everyone thought I was too thin, etc. and I think that the others here are correct, if you FEEL good, your blood counts are within normal range, etc. don't worry. You're body knows.....I didn't start any gaining until I was over 2 years out. I also think the carbs are dangerous as I suffer from real bad sugar drops if I eat processed sugar. It's become a dangerous thing as I've gotten as low as 30s....after eating refined sugar on an empty stomach. My pancreas just kicks out that insulin like there's no tomorrow! The minute I stop eating the refined sugars I am steady as a rock and have no trouble so yes, in my case, eating the carbs is not advised....just wanted to chime in. None of us are alone in this!

I was telling my husband last night about all the wonderful responses I've had to this issue and what a great board this is and that, of course, led to my asking him if he thought I was down too far, looked sickly, etc. Now I probably trust this darling man more than anyone else I know to always tell me the truth (still in love after 30 years-awhhh!) and he reassured me that I look great. He also reiterated, as you did in your post, that I'm doing fine if I FEEL good and my labs are normal. It's a good thing I made this decision last night (to ignore the world's opinion and go with my gut) because the scale showed me dropping again this morning- didn't faze me at all (LOL)

I definitely had this problem as well.  My nut suggested adding in nuts and more fat into my diet.  I did that and was still losing.  So I started adding more carbs back in.  That helped me stop losing and gain a few pounds back.   My doctor suggested gaining about 10 pounds back from my lowest, but that has now turned into 15.  Now I need help stopping the scale!   I never believed it when people would say enjoy this while you can, but now I'm saying the same to you!
