lbbyogawoman is back
Greetings to all! I am back and ready to join up with the grads. It's been FOUR years since my surgery. Much has happened. I did reach my weight loss goal of 100lbs. and was at 140-145 for quite some time. I developed some problems (low low blood sugar counts, severe anemia, low B12) and have been working with doctors to get that under control. It's been a year, wrangling with these issues, my family and moved to a new house 2 years ago, and I do believe things have finally settled down. I have to get back to focusing on me. I've gained close to 30 lbs. and my lupus doctor is insistant that I get that back off and get back down to 140. So, I am struggling with that. The past week has been one of jumping on the scales every morning to see that no lose has happened. I still drink Real Meals (60 grm.) a day.
Any support or suggestings from some old-timers would be helpful. My spirits are low at this point. Glad you are here! LBByogawoman
Welcome back!!
I am not a long timer... just 2 1/2 years post op but I wanted to stop by and give you some love. Focusing on you is so important!!! Sounds like you haven't been doing a lot of that lately so your first step. Like you, I have gained weight. From my lowest, I put on 15 lbs. On Sunday, I started a "Time Out" I read about on several posts here. It was started by Patty Butler. Its pretty much getting back to the basics... liquids only. Patty Butler is the one that started it. I would look back through May to all the post to get the full scoop on it. Sounds like people are doing modified versions of it. Mine is 3 protein shakes a day, broth & all the water & crystal light.
Take care of yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Hi Splenderella! LOVE the name. Thanks so much for your reply. It really does help to have emotional support. I will check out the Time Out information. I remember Patty! I basically did do that today...so far two protein drinks and WuYi tea (2), water but then I ended up eating some oatmeal...no sugar added. I have a quiet month ahead of me so it is the perfect time to go back to liquids only. I was on that the first month post-op. I've got a girlfriend who ate solids right out of surgery! Seriously! I walked in the hospital room (day after her surgery) and they were giving her cheese....I about gagged just thinking about it. I was only a year out at the time so the condition I was in straight out of surgery was still fresh in my mind. At any rate, she has not faired so well in her total weight loss amount. She had carbs restricted for a month, I had them restricted for six. Oh, I could go on and on....
So yes, I'll join up with the "Time Out" . Makes total sense to me. I will need to get some broth but I've got crystal light here and of course my boxes of Real Meals. I've never stopped with those and am convinced they have been of great help to me.
Have you heard anything about Wu Yi tea or Wu-Yong tea. I ordered some of the Wu Yong tea over the net but went to the health food store and got the Wu Yi Rock tea. Seems real handy. I love plain ice tea....they had flavored and sweetened but I don't go for that stuff...Well again, Thanks Splenderella! I'll have to hunt down Patty...wonder who else is here from four years ago! We use to really heat up the boards!!!!! It was a blast and SO inspirational!! Blessings, LBB Yogawoman
