Good Day Carla You know alot of people swear by sticking to basically the same foods and diet post-op cause then you know what works and that it is in line with what you need...As for me, I like to vary my protein and other foods which is why my daily intake bounces around so much, I'm OK with the bounce as long as I stay in my lbs range, course right now I'm about 2 lbs over my comfort window, but working on that and of course just letting time work its course from the surgical lbs... As for the icecream addiction, said it before, will again - I don't really see a problem with having icecream daily, especially if you are going for the nsa type, just remember to eat quantity within reason, which seems like you have to anyway cause of reaction for the sugar alcohols, so don't sweat the sweet cream, just have it once and day, chalk it up to your daily "pat on the back" and enjoy it ... Have a good one, see ya tomorrow...Alesia

Hey everyone!  Sorry I missed you all yesterday...wasn't feeling great (darn those allergies...I hate allergy season..hate it )  Anyways, I did good on the eating yesterday.  Over the weekend I discovered a new dessert that I absolutely love!!  Basically it's just canned pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and a little whipped cream.  Who knew that would taste so good..and be so filling.  Half a cup will do it..and only 50 calories.  Oh I love it!!  Anyways, here's my menu for yesterday. B: 20 oz sugar free caramel nonfat latte L: four cheese stuffed chicken - chicken stuffed with ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella, spinach, and then topped with cheddar. S: salad with lettuce, tomato, onion, blue cheese, dried cranberries, croutons, italian spritzer S: 8 strawberries D: blue cheese burger on whole wheat bun with mustard and grilled  onions I was gonna have some of my pumpkin dessert but the burger did me in.  I was way too full to eat anything else for the rest of the night. Calories -- 1236 Fat -- 54 Carbs -- 95 Protein -- 92 Like I said..a good day..but then again Mondays always are.  Hope everyone else is having a great day. Kerri

Hey, hey, hey Great Day !!! Thanks for chiming in Kerri, sorry you are suffering from allergies, my family ( all but me ) suffer greatly also, can sort of relate and it sucks, just gotta stay indoors and take the drugs I guess... That stuffed chicken sounds YUMMO and the pumpkin dessert too, do you just whip it together in a bowl? Love pumpkin and always making up pies, cakes and breads that have it as an ingredient cause my oldest loves it even more than I do ... Good work, now make that awesome Monday, stretch into a fantastic Tuesday, Wednesday, etc...OKAY ???  Alesia

Yep with the pumpkin I just mix all the ingredients together.  I forgot I also put splenda in it.  I don't have any exact amounts.  I just pour in the splenda and pumpkin spice and just keep tasting until it tastes sweet enough.  As far as the whipped cream, you can either just put a little on top or mix it together with the pumpkin.  It's good both ways.  I just can't believe you can make a dessert like that and it only be 50 calories for half a cup and it's really really filling!!

I did just see a recipe on hungry-girl.com for pumpkin brownies.  It sounded good.  It was just pumpkin mixed with brownie mix and nothing else not even the oil or eggs for the brownie mix.  Brownies normally make me a little sick to my stomach but maybe one of those would be okay for a treat once in awhile.  They had another one similar to mine except it was frozen.  I think pumpkin might be my new best friend. Yes that chicken was awesome!  Super easy to make.  I just put about a cup of ricotta, mixed in few tablespoons of parmesan, and about half cup mozzarella, and then mixed in about a half cup of thawed frozen spinach.  Then take about three or four boneless skinless chicken breasts and stuff them with the mixture.  Bake it at 350 for about 25 minutes or until chicken is done and then top it off with cheddar cheese and bake until the cheese melts.  Really good..and actually not too high in calories.  I think one piece came out about 250 calories or so. Anyways, all this talk about food is making me hungry...I think I may need to go eat my snack now Kerri

I had a good day.  I was so busy I didn’t have time to put it into sparkpeople, but I was pretty careful about what I ate.  I drank a decent amount of water, about 60 ounces.  I have been eating a lot of fruit and veggies lately, and I find that I get really full at meal time when I eat fruit and veggies as a snack.

B: egg beaters with broccoli

S: Watermelon, celery and 1 oz almonds

L: ¼ subway roast beast sandwich

Sun Chips very bad!  They were too greasy and they hurt my stomach

S: ½ cup Fage yogurt with light cherry pie filling

    3 mini red peppers

D: 3 oz pork tenderloin

     8 spears asparagus

S: Watermelon

I rode my bike for an hour.  Of course I weighed myself and the scale is up, but I am going to try not to freak out.  I am in this for the long haul.

Hi Erin, You've got the right idea, just stay cool...I tell that to myself also...I little up and down is okay if you are varying what you eat, # of cals in and out a day, do you have a comfort window or do you worry if its up just 1 lb?  Personally my comfort window is +/- 5 lbs on my 125, that means as long as I'm under 130 I'm not freaking out, also don't let it slip lower than 120 at the other end (although 120's  are few and far between ) usually fluxuate between 122 and 126, today 128 so I can live with it...Like you know this is a long term thing, which is why I allow for a comfort range...I get out of the range, than Whoa! I really start cutting out the carbs and cut back on the cals until the scale number work better for me...I know probably shouldn't let a number mean so much, but it does, I weigh daily and I know that is a big part of what keeps me in check along with my daily accounting so I can see where I need to make adjustments... Looks like you ate a good food day, plenty of great choices, keep working your program and in the long run it will be fine... Alesia P.S. Watermelon, now I'm going to have to have some of that tonight, thanks for the reminder that I have a mini-melon chilling in the fridge...

Hi Connie My appt went very well, he is quite please with the results, took of the steri strips and cleared me to drive, also will be able to raise my arms above chest level again as long as it feels okay, which is really the best part cause I'm really running out of clothes to wear - its amazing how little I own that buttons all the way from the bottom and does not need some kind of undershirt to go with it - so woowhoo...Back in 2 week for next clearance and to get info on scar message and what ointments I can use for scar therapy (used mederma with my panni and it looks really nice)... You had a great day, excellent protein ...Boy I keep seeing cherries at the store and you keep posting them on your menu's, really might have to break down and just spend the $$ to get a little fix just for me ( shhh, don't tell DH & the kids, I don't want to share  )... Connie, thank you for continuing to be sooo supportive, I really love all you guys, it is so nice to talk with others, trade info and do the give-n-take that is so much a part of the OH community... See you tomorrow ... Alesia

Hello Sher, I see you had a good day too, protein seems a little low. for what you ate, but guess the numbers really do add up... For a second I looked over your food and thought you had eaten the whole 8 oz of prime rib from O'Charlie's, then I did a double take  and realized you ate a 1/4 of it, whooo, for 1/2 a second I was just blown away wondering where our little Sher could possibly have stashed it all See you tomorrow night, OK...Alesia
