I take VistaVitamins and my labs are still great.  I supplement iron, calcium and vit D as I'm further out but I like the convenience of the automatic reorder shipments and the pouches of pills, one a.m. and one p.m.

Love all the chewable  www.bariatricadvantage.com vitamins.  I take C, B12, assorted flavor calcium. I had been taking iron for a while as well.  Recently tried out there banana cereal too. Good stuff.

I take 2 fish oil 1000mg, 2 adult Centrum chewable, 2 ironchel (gnc brand), 2500mcg biotin, 1000mcg sublingual b12 five times a week, and 2 Citrical chewables. Seems like a lot now that I see in writing....

Bariatric Advantage for me.  Two chewable multi-vit a day, three chewable calcium citrate.  One b-12 every other day.  I also take Repliva 21/7 (prescription) for iron.

I think I live on a different planet.

From the beginning I've taken 2 multis, and then addressed the specific vites and minerals that we malabsorb. Since that was 1994, I adjust according to my latest labs. I keep a spreadsheet with my values and try to meet or beat my best values.

I suspect I get a LOT more labs run than most ppl, tho.

The malabsorbed ones (we need ridiculously high doses):
iron
calcium
A, D, E
B1
B12
zinc

For example, I take 300mg elemental iron to maintain stellar levels, but I start most proximals on 150mg. No such thing as too much calcium, as long as it's citrate. I take about 40,000 units of vit D per day, but start my proxies on more like 5,000. And so on.

Then you get labs quarterly and adjust to fit YOU.

Sorry I vanished. Was answering emails, rocking away to music and poof, no computer for a coupla days. I was horrified!

I start my proximals and bands on 6 (150mg elemental). But since you're already in trouble, I'd work up to 12. I know that sounds like a lot, but 300mg elemental isn't that much vs having to take a day off work every week or however they schedule to get the infusion.

I usually tell ppl to start with 2 + vit C for a day or so, see how it feels, then increase by 2 more, wait, feel. Increase by 2 more, etc. These do not usually constipate, but if they do, or you started that way, there are some things I'd suggest to help that out. Not having iron on board is NOT an option, right?
