OK, I admit to my infrequent visits to this community, due more to work/life balance than interest or value. BUT, OMG! What is happening here? I read 2 posted replies to a successful but frustrated community member post that referred to her having lost "the easy way."   BTW, the poster had lap RNY... I HAD LAP RNY AND SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL ME THAT THERE IS AN EASY WAY!!! INDULGE ME PLEASE, WLS GRADS...WHICH PART IS OF THIS IS LOSING THE EASY WAY? Having the courage to completely change your life? Finding the strength to achieve the unthinkable? Making a journey that is soley based on commitment? Living in fear of failure? Replacing the negative but familiar voices in your head with positive new voices? Recognizing that not only do you have great power, but you deserve greatness? I did not get the memo with the subject line referencing the easy way. If you have it, please send it my way. Karen

Mild mannered, 60 years young Monica thinks a cattle prod would work well on those who say this is the easy way to lose weight. Rearranging your insides, following the rules, and being good to yourself for the first time by taking back your life with this drastic surgery has not been easy. But I would do it again in a second.....I have successful lost 177 lbs and keeping it off. Hooray for us all who take this "easy way out"...NOT

Well said.....ride em cowgirls and cowboys.......educating those who haven't walked in our boots or worn our panties is an ongoing project. I meet many people on our RV journey across America. I share my before pictures with some and explain what and why I had WLS. Most are so supportive and can't believe my success. Often I am asked many questions and answer as honest as I can. Some have wondered why I had the surgery and I let them know, it was and easy decision for me at age 57 since nothing I did, no diet I tried allowed me to a success. Finally at age 60 I can live my life, move, play, enjoy and be healthier.

Wow you gal's are on a rollllll.  I don't have to add anything cause you said it all!!!    Ya know Oprah says it's the easy way out.      As for me, Gastric bypass in 2003, lost 100#.  Never vomited at all.   Everyone else was losing cause they were all vomiting.  I have a stomach of iron.   LOL   Needed to lose another 60#. Gained only 16 # in four yr's.  I struggle EVERYDAY.  I AM DETERMINED TO LOSE DOWN TO 200 #.  That is why I came back on this site. You all are INSPIRING ME.  I walked a mile today and plan on walking more later.  I ate a healthy breakfast.  I am confessing that I am a food alcoholic.  I constantly want to be eating.  Even when I am full.  But, I don't cause I still have my small pouch, and never want to strech it.  YEAH!!! Had a total hip replacement four months ago,  Dr. said for me to at least get my weight down to 200 for the sake of my new hip.  I am all inspired now because of reading the success stories.  Thank you Everyone Tena

Well, I think you said it VERY well and I'm thinking of having  some little cards printed up with you insights on them!!! You know, to pass out to those totally ignorant people who say this is the "easy way". I did not receive the memo either. In fact, the memo I got said "This is NOT easy, but it is soooooooooo worth it" and I totally agree with that one.  Thanks for putting into words what we all would have said!!! We appreciate you!!!    Hugs,  Piggy

Thank you Piggy. I did find the memo that you also received. Hmmm...maybe we all have a future in greeting cards for the inspired WLS post-op? Great to be part of a community of support. Karen
