I'm 2 years out from successful RNY. I ate some bad egg yesterday at 2PM and had immediate cramping and vomiting. All food came up but still *****ly cramps all through last night and they are still there. My friend is a gastrointerologist but she does not know I've had the surgery and she said the symptoms would go away in 24 hours. It has been almost that and still *****ly pain and cramping in lower intestines. I'm drinking only hot tea as recommended by friend. Note that my surgery went so well and recovery that I never once vomited through that whole process and I'm getting worried about this.  Has this happened to anyone else? Is there something going on here that might relate to the surgery? Thanks. Torrie

I've not had anything like that, but I would FIND a doctor that DOES know about WLS and see him/her right away. You NEVER know if something surgery related is going on. Best Wishes and let us hear from you Hugs,  Piggy

I had the very same symptoms in January 06.  After five hours of it, I decided to go to the ER.  After days of testing, they told me I had a bowel obstruction and needed immediate surgery or I could die.  I don't mean to alarm you, but don't take this pain lightly!  Go to the ER and get answers!

God bless!

Thanks for your reply. I just got back from the hospital where I had emergency surgery on Tuesday to remove a bowel obstruction. They did a CT scan on me immediately upon arrival and rush ed me right into surgery. This was serious. Torrie
