Day 2 of 5 Day Pouch Test

I didn't post Day 1 because I wasn't sure I'd make it!  Since I made it through Day 1 of liquids only, I am more motivated to make it through the week.   This 5 day program was one I really thought I could do, as opposed to time out and some of the others I've seen.  I got my mom to do it with me (she's also post op and has gained) so we were calling each other yesterday asking "Are you still doing it?" to get us through the day.   I'll keep posting my progress.   The goal is not to lose weight, although I probably will, but to "reset" the pouch.   I forget who posted about this but THANKS!  This may be what I needed to get back on track!   Have a great day! Laina Lap RNY 9/9/03 250 / 145 (lowest) / 180 (current) / 135 (goal)  I've been too ashamed to put that in my signature lately but I'm turning a corner here!  No more excuses of baby weight when my daughter is now almost TWO!!!

OMGosh! I have not breathed a word of this to anyone on this board and I am starting day two also!!! So far so good! Kaye BAiley is  a very smart woman! Eventhough I have been doing well with my eating and exercising, I was missing that tight pouch feeling and am so happy to be getting that back. Molly

I think I will try it next week. I'm sick with a stupid cold right now & not sure how many fluids I can get in me. Just feel yucky. I will try to get in my protein shakes though. I love my shakes. I went to the page & printed it for next week. thanks , Brenda

Yay Brenda! Ya know, I never really thought about myself as a control freak and still don't but it feels really good to be in control of eating and your pouch.  Good luck next week and get well soon! Molly

Good Luck Molly!  Today has seemed harder than yesterday.  I swear - I drive all day long and I'm discovering that I'm addicted to drive throughs.  I honestly felt panicky today and wanted to eat.  I drove through the coffee shop and got a sugar free latte.   I've got to stop the fast food!  I remember when I first had my surgery, I'd get a single cheeseburger and just eat HALF the meat.  Now I get the value meal and drink diet coke, eat french fries, etc.  I need a wakeup call!  This has got to stop!  (I'm packing my cooler this week with stuff I can eat / drink.) It's just crazy!  This battle is crazy!  I wish you the best on this!  I'm hanging on! Laina

Hi Laina! Today was a little hard for me too but the thought of some lean dense protein tomorrow morning is keeping the dream alive! LOL! I was at a ladie's brunch today and the food there was looking so good. Instead of eating though I drank coffee, protein shake and a huge thing of iced water. It went well actually! I'll check in tomorrow! Molly

Will you all please post your progress when you have completed the program?  I am curious to see how it turns out for each of you.  I am thinking of doing it also.
