Day 3 of 5 Day Pouch Test

Today is day 3. Day 2 was actually harder than day 1 for me.  I was hungrier and drank more soup.  I am down 4 pounds, although I don't kid myself - that's impossible - it's mainly water!   Today will be a challenge.  Although I can EAT some soft protein, I have to retrain my self on the NO DRINKING 30 minutes before, during, and 30 minutes after eating.  I have my timer and will try to be EXACT while I relearn this habit.  That was always a hard one for me.  Just interfers with my grazing!!! haha. I have not had a diet coke in 2 days.  That hasn't been intentional but I haven't wanted one.  I got hooked on those when I got pregnant.  I had been off of them for 1 1/2 years.  Since that's so controversial, maybe I'll just quit them again! I hope everyone has a great day!   Laina Lap RNY 9/9/03 250 / 145 (lowest) / 176 (current) / 135 (goal)  I've been too ashamed to put that in my signature lately but I'm turning a corner here!  No more excuses of baby weight when my daughter is now almost TWO!!!

Misty: Go to www.5daypouchtest.com.   I am SO excited.  I just ate some scrambled egg and I couldn't even finish ONE egg.  I'm gaining confidence in my tool!  I didn't  "break" it, I just wasn't using it! Last week I was eating McDonald's value meals (not all but too much!), Snickers, etc.  Now I am going back to basics!!! Good Luck! Laina

Thought I would chime in here since it is also my day 3!  Day 2 was about the same as day 1 for me. I made it through the ladies' brunch without much temptation. Usually I would have ate a boiled egg, scone, coffee, a few other nibbles of carbs and maybe even some candy! I do that ever single Tuesday morning and feel like crap all day. Anyway, so eventhough I had to keep getting up to use the little girl's room I was happy to not be eating all that.  Later, my MIL invited us all over for pizza and I managed to escape that unscathed as well! YAY! At home later I drank a lot of broth and CL, and another shake (Champion Banana Scream from Vitalady). Anyway, I have not weighed yet and am going to hold off on that until Friday.  I have never been so pumped about eggs and tuna patties as I am right now! I must be proactive on kicking butt all holiday season or it will kick mine. That is when all this crazy eating started for me...last year around Halloween. NO MORE! "Fun" size snickers are the devil's spawn! LOL!

OMG congratulations..... I am 1/2 way through day one and feeling ok. Thanks for the heads up about tomorrow. I got up this morning and wasn't really prepared for this but felt it was time. You have given me the incentive to keep going. My current weight is 176 also, my lowest was 163 and my highest was 181. I too have been ashamed to come here and post but now I need a good kick in the arsssss. thanks for your support. donna

Hi ladies! Donna, today was day 1 for  me too. So far its going pretty well~I don't feel too deprived and its 5:15pm. I wasn't gonna try this, but I feel I just need something to give me a spark so I'm giving it a try. So far so good~hope tomorrow's not too tough! Congrats to all that are finding success!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tracy and everyone! I approached this pouch test thing with caution as well. I have been well known among you grads as being a little drastic by not just going back to the basics and such. However, I am so happy that I am doing this 5 day thing to get a handle on my eating again. I feel awesome. Especially mentally because it is such a great feeling to be in control of your pouch again.  Hang in there! Viva la pouch! Mine still works great now that I am "working" it! LOL

I think that's the main thing~it makes you feel better mentally to be in control again! I went to support group last night and gave a copy of the 5day plan to the surgeon (it wasn't my surgeon, but one from his office)~he hadn't even heard about this before and I told him I would appreciate any feedback he had for me. Hope today goes well for everyone no matter what day you're on!
