Has anyone had any problems with low blood pressure? Mine was 100/55 yesterday and has been like that or lower since surgery. I will be 3 years out next month. I am having a lot of headaches and my docotor was out so they gave me to someone else. This doctor said my B6 was really high and that can be toxic. Happy day...

Kim For the last nine months my b/p has been running any where from 90/48 to 100/ 54 . I even have a heart rate that goes as low as 46 at times. at first they worried about it. they did the 24 hour halter monitor to see what was going on and it even showed my heart rate going as low as in the low thirties. They went as far to do all kind of blood work and the only. Problem they could find. Was a low rbc. But that no surprise because I been treated for that issue at my rrc. for the last four month plus had three units of blood. So they went as far as doing a echo gram and a cardiac stress test and a ekg. Then I was told kindly by the cardiologist that I should be lucky that. I am one of the lucky one that my heart issues are do to be in top shape and working out two hours a day and walking 8 miles a day. Even thou ti took them a hour on the tread mile for my heart rate to get u[p to a 160. Before they could inject me with dye and then after they did that 10 min later it drop down to the low 40's again. And my blood pressure never got above 120/ 70 Yes they did find a small leak in the micro value but they said they would not worry about it unless. I had major chest pains or showed any other signs. And no at this time they do not want to shock the heart into a higher heart rate. No I am on no blood pressure pills or any o other pills that would lower my heart rate or my b/p . I wish you the best of luck. Taichi

I have low bp as well. Last check it was 87/50 and hr was 60 bpm. I'm not sure why, no one seems to know.. but that's where I'm at. When I was in the hospital last year, I kept setting off the alarms on the machine because they levels were so low. And I REALLY hate when they pump that dumb arm cuff up like crazy - it hurts my poor little arm!!! lol

Are either of you having any headache problems, nausea, tired all of the time? The new doctor gave me Florinef to see if it will bing my blood pressure up and stop the headaches. It could cause weight gain I will not be happy about that. It also can cause edema which I already have and take a water pill each morning to help with that. If its not one thing its another.

Me. 90/50 being typical. Sometimes docs are upset, sometimes not. One told me to eat salt. Well, I salt thing if they need it, but naked salt?? YUCK!

No one has offered to do anything about it.

B6 isn't exactly toxic, but can demonstrate symptoms of low B6 if it's too high. Ahh, but then, what exactly is "too high", based on which lab's ranges and whose concepts?

My blood pressure and pulse are low too. My doctor isn't concerned about it unless I should become lightheaded  and dizzy, so far my labs are ok.  Maybe the headaches are being caused  by something else. I hope you doctor is able to find out what is causing them. One thought, are you drinking enough fluids? That can cause low blood pressure and headaches.

Hope you feel better soon and find out the cause  and that it is not something serious. Take care Sher

Kim Yes I was just put on topamax for migraine headache. That was causeing litheadness and nause. I been on it for two days. And it seems to be helping but they have to watch the does and do blood work in a few eeks to make sure my lab work is okay. I take lasix 10 mg every other day due to a kidney problem and if I due not get enough fluids these days. I get really achy tried and liteheaded because they say you lose a lot of fluids the day you use water pills. No matter how strong or weak the dose is. Plus I to take a vit b12 shot once a week. Then next week I have to go back and start treatments for low iron at the rrc. I wish you the best of luck and hope they find what is wrong withyou very soon. Take care and you will be in my prayers and thoughts.Taichi

I was having that problem too but since we upped my Armour Thyroid, my blood pressure is back up to 110/70 where it should be. My pulse is a little quicker too. I'm a runner and should have low blood pressure but 95/55 was too low and I kept trying to pass out. Check out the book "Hypothroidism Type II" by Dr. Starr (http://www.type2hypothyroidism.com/). You can get it on Amazon.com for around $14. It really opened my eyes to a lot of little issues I've been dealing with and seem to be going away after upping my thyroid meds. If I can get off all the other meds I'm on and just have to take thyroid for the rest of my life, I can live with that! Some other symptoms are constipation, fingernail grooves and ridges, slow metabolism, lack of energy, dry skin, dry hair, hair loss, brittle nails, cold skin, dull eyes, facial swelling, swelling around eyes and eyelids, nervousness, rapid heart rate, swelling of ankles (edema), slow heart rate despite low aerobic fitness, fluid in abdomen, pounding heart, thick tongue, enlarged heart, etc. Take control of your health - find a doctor that will listen to you and keeps himself updated! I have one of the best!   Diona

Thanks to everyone for the info. I am going to check on the Hypothroidism book.  The more info I have the better I am at telling the doctor what is wrong. I think they need help from time to time.
