can't do the 5DPT- suggestions needed!
my experience with this pouch reset was so horrible: i had to call my rny surgeon and my reg dr for an emergency...found out that with high levels of food intolerences and IBS this is a bad thing to do. they said it was triggering a lot of my health issues, and told me not to do this diet. Has anyone else had this problem even remotely? The first day was horrible, I can't do only liquids, and the recommendations on the website didn't work for me. so i went to day three, and my food issues came up. i am horribly frustrated because i am over a year out, and noticing that i can eat a lot of food, that i want junk all the time (i rarely dump because i avoid my dump foods) and while i'm not gaining, im totally not losing. are there any suggestions you can give me to possibly help me reset my pouch without food issues? i eat mostly vegetarian, lots of veggies and veggie protein, very little meat. i can't drink a full protein shake because it makes me sick (mostly the thickness, even mixed with water). suggestions totally appreciated.

Misty, I believe you can retrain your pouch eating your "mostly vegetarian" way. The main thing I believe is decarbing yourself. Get rid of the white carbs (pasta, bread, potato, rice) and getting the dense protein back into your system.
Think of the beginning of your journey when you were extra careful of what you put in your mouth because of the determination to make this work.
Good luck!

thank you! i keep forgetting about dense proteins, because i rarely eat real meat, but i suppose a garden burger is the same as a piece of hamburger, and fake chicken is just like real chicken...thankfully, the only carbs i really eat are breads, crackers, and potatoes. but i will try to cut those out!

You are local to me, so you might want to come down here NOV 13 and/or 14 for a support group meeting. You can listen to what other ppl do and perhaps try some thin proteins. Not sure what you've been using, but most are thin.
I also don't much care for meat or fish, so when I recently needed to lose wt, I used mainly bars. But I drink 6 proteins a day, as well.
Lots of ppl several years out now, so many ideas on how to lose or maintain, how to make that switch to healthy eating that you tolerate before you have substantial regain. Let me know if you need directions.
