Im over one year out and am way below goal.  Not bad for my height , Im 5'2 and 125.  I dont want to lose anymore but I hate eating more!  It doesnt feel good to over fill my pouch and always eating during the day sucks.  Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to even out now and get people off my back with the " Please dont lose anymore" comments.. ( which are so rude because a year'ish ago it was "Please we are worried about your weight" Any help would be great thanks!!! Linda

My personal bias is to never TRY to regain or stop the loss. Since we usually have a 10-15 lb bounce back at the end, you might end up at 150 if you tamper with what has worked so far.

I'm 5'1", and lost down to 104. That's ok by chart wt, but kinda thin on me. It corrected itself to 118, then parked at 112, which is where I am today, as long as I leave the sugar alone.

Some charts advise goal wt thus:
5' = 100 lbs
you get 5# for every inch thereafter, which puts me chunky at 112 vs their 105. Puts you chunky at 5'2" to their 110 as ideal.

Just so you know you're not wasting away by some charts. And for sure you will have bounce back. Just keep treating yourself as if you want to end up where you are AFTER bounce back, which means you could lose down into the teens before you're done.

I guess the look of losing and the look of one weight "looks" different.   Meaning when actively losing my face looks more thin... I dont mind me....everyone around me is harping on me and frankly I ate a ton more today and yesterday and it felt horrible.  I like my range of about 11 hundred or abit less. I cant eat sugar I dump....fried foods too.   < lucky me! >  And I dont like to stretch my pouch. When I see that they think I could weigh 110'ish I laugh.  Im happy with the way I look now and would like to stay here....

thanks for the thoughts it helped me a ton to remember Im not crazy and I know what Im doing :)

Hugs

The average seems to be about 30# from goal. Then the moms and best freinds start with, "You can stop losing now, hun, you're starting to look gaunt." Well, HELLO? We are in fact, punctured balloons at first. How do they expect we look after dropping a coupla hundred pounds in a year?

I look at pix when I was 110-115 in 1995 and I looked, um, gaunt, not so good, too thin, not healthy (fill in whatever else they've said) and now that's whatI weight and it looks RIGHT. My skin has caught up, my color is good, it all works. But at first, the pix I see made me lok about 75, instead of the 45 I was then. I'm 58 now and look much younger than I did at the same wt on the way down.

Like I said, I ultimately hit 104, which on the scale I used is technically ok for 5'1", but at that point in time, I just looked skeletal.

In the 13 yrs, I've weighed as little as 101 (had inner thing, made me too nauseated to eat, fixed ear, regained to 112), and I think over 120 (eating sugar), but when I fix whatever is wrong, I always end up right around 112. Never in a million years did I think THIS would be my parking place.

I'd hoped for 150, then 135, then 125, then 120 and as the scale went lower, I jus****ched in amazement. Then it all righted itself in the end.

Honest, it does not pay to mess with the body's final adjustment of itself here. Your ideal might end up at 117, where you can stay with reasonable effort. You might end up at 132. But if you find a place somewhere near where you think you want to be AND can stay there with reasonable effort, that's it. The right place.

Awesome thank you!  That makes sense and kinda firms up what I was thinking.   You are so right with the analogy of the punctured balloon!   I see me and if Im abit tired I look TIRED and icky poo! I feel like I will round off abit when I settle where I will settle at. Thank you so much..honestly your my first response and it makes me feel so much better to read your words of wisdom. I appreciate the time you took for me. Many hugs And if you dont mind Ill "add" you as a friend for future information if I need it??? Linda

One otherthing is that we all wear our weight differently. One of my buddies has a PhD in education, but the whole WLS totally bewildered her. She has a color colded chart to take her vites by (even now, 11 yrs later). I use a ziploc baggie.

We're both 5'1", but she was a bit older, I'm thinking maybe 52 to my 46 about then? So, she gets to 130 and feels like a scarecrow. Coworkers who are usta her at 270 can't wrap their brain around her as a petite woman (totally well dressed & groomed, of course). She points to her clavicles and the hollows (which most of us think are way cool) and says, "LOOK AT THESE! When I get out of the shower, it looks like I have twin swimming pools!" LOL!

So, since I was stable in my 112# world by then, I pulled my shirt open and said, "I weigh 20# less at the same ht and THIS is how they look after a year." Some flesh (but not fat) over the bones, some hollows, but not so deeply angled. Much less of the wet-t-shirt tossed-over-the-back-of-a-kitchen-chair, you know?

And sure enough, 6-8 months later, she weighed less, but looked more gently reounded. She was happy.

You will be fine once you get done bouncing around. The swing up is very frightening, then when you swing back down a bit, you sorta hope you will/will not hit your former low. In an ideal world, you'll plunge to about 110 to see what that is like, to match some crazy chart wt, and then float around and end up in the 120's somewhere.

Ok we need to start a new group LOL Honestly between you and me (?)  I get a odd vibe on my other board talking to some about losing so much when others are stuck with more to lose...almost a " Shut up quit bragging"  feel if that makes sense. Lets keep intouch!!   I felt so much better after reading the posts above.... I felt like crap eating more the last two days...   Congrats on your huge loss!   We are the same height and weight 'ish... I am usually 128 or 126 but have been 125 lately since starting my job.  More movement I guess. Hugs and add me as a friend so we cant keep intouch Linda

Linda, I am usually on the Over Fifty forum, (OFF) and they are completely supportive. On occasion I visit the other forums and totally understand the vibe you feel when honestly asking about losing too much. It is not bragging, it is asking a legitimate question. Unfortunately the written word can take on different meanings, so some people may misinterpret what we say. My husband,  daughters, and long time friends have voiced concerns about my weight loss. My hubby is very supportive but lately keeps trying to get more food in me. My labs have been perfect, I feel great, and follow the Dietician's advice to the letter. They are all used to seeing a super morbidly obese woman, so the 'new me' looks too thin. They will adjust, just as my body will eventually adjust. Michelle gave us encouraging information. I may print it out for my family and friends.  I think I added you to my friends list? Some days this computer has a mind of its own. Please do keep in touch. We can help each other. Annette
