Has any WLS grads been diagnosed with Crohns disease? Grads of 4-5 years post-op? Just another reason to TAKE YOUR SUPPLIMENTS....I am 6 and 1/2 years out and recently diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I hear you, your saying "thats not that unusual to have Crohns."..yes it is, I'm 61 years old, very unuaual for someone my age to have it, usually occurs in the 20-35 year old  After lots of test and ER visits,  lots of unhappy days, my GI doctor label's it  Crohn's ileitis. It is a type of Crohn's affecting the ileum. Bottom line it can result from nutrition and vitamins not absorbing. God Bless, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, I am so sorry that you are having this issue.  I hope that things get better for you soon, and they find a way to effectively manage this for you.  Thanks for the warning...

I recall reading a WLS newsletter from  Dr Simpson in AZ.  He mentioned that he started seeing Crohn's type symptoms in some of his patients.  He put them go on a total gluten-free diet and the symptons went away.  Might be worth checking out. Cathy
