numbness in arm-pinky and ring finger...
*I* personally don't think 500mcg a day is enough, but then again, I think I'm more serious than most about nutritional issues like these. Te question to be answered is where is your B12 and B1 level in labs?
I can send you the list of labs you need drawn (and maybe you will shop and find a PCP to order them) if you email me privately in my regular email. [email protected]
It's not so much how much you TAKE so much as how much you've GOT on board.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
I had similar symptoms and over months it turned to pain. Then eventually, I had a very painful shoulder and arm. It turns out that I have frozen shoulder and that it is not uncommon after surgery especially breast surgery. I had my lap. RNY 1/06 , a lbl and breast lift with augmentation 12/06, and a face lift in March. The numbness started this spring turning to pain by summer and sever pain by fall. I am being treated for it with cortizone injections and physical therapy. If it is the start of frozen shoulder it can be cured with exercise. Diabetes, hypo and hyperthyroidism, parkinson's etc also cause frozen shoulder. It's worth considering anyhow. Sharon

I'm with Michelle on this one. You HAVE TO have your vitamin levels checked by the lab and you HAVE TO a copy of your labs . You cannot trust your PCP or a multivitamin or a B12.
You don't need a surgeon, btw...you need an endocrinologist or a hematologist. If you treat this right away--assuming it's nutrient-related--you can make it go away. But you have to treat what is wrong...and not just guess.

In any group of a hundred people, there are probably 2 or 3 sociopaths. In a group of a thousand, more like 20-30. They function very well in "affinity groups," where people have things in common and tend to trust strangers. I am NOT saying not to trust anyone. I AM saying that there are probably two dozen sociopaths hanging out here and looking for victims. Most are NOT serial killers.
