Not the Same Dawn
on 11/20/07 12:05 am - BEE EFF EEE, CA
Not too bad. I was back on schedule with work and eating. I was a bit short by dinner but I added a cup of yogurt just before bed to bring my calories up. Seems the stress at work makes everything I eat make me feel nasty...I just don't do stress too well. I'm looking forward to being out of here early tomorrow and being off for a couple of days.  Breakfast: malto meal with raisins and coffee 6 am Snack: Homemade protein bar with added peanuts this time. (8 am) Lunch: Tina's burrito (there! that ought to add the calories, by golly) and a cheese stick (10 am) Snack: Shrimp with Honey mustard sauce (made w/ sf honey from Walmart and Brown mustard, pesto - yummy) and some red leaf lettuce (12 noon) More coffee and a granola bar, the computer system was down so it was snack happy time. (2 pm) Dinner: Chicken Breast with pesto and alot of green beans and a single milano sf cookie (1/3 serving) 6 pm Bedtime snack: 1 cup of Lite Yogurt. 8:30 Totals Calories 1632 Fat: 44 Carbs 206 Protein 102

Carla what are your 'ideal' numbers for calories, protein and carb intake per day?  Are these figures from your experience or have you got them from somewhere? Thanks Ruth

I have a rule of thumb I guess based on my nut, sparkpeople and what I have learned works for me..   I try.. the key word is try to keep my cals at 1200.  I fail a lot there as I am usually lower between 1000 and 1100... I try to keep my protein over 100, I try for 120, my carbs below 100.. i shoot for 70.. and my fat below 50.  You will see most of the time I fall right in that area.  I lost weight doing that and now I am maintaining my weight doing that.  I hope that answers your question.   I try hard to stay away from carbs.. although if you look at my tuesday totals I was over everywhere..lol.. but that is the first time in a long time that I went over.. which is ok.. it was all good eating well mostly..lol.. You go get them Carla! It is so good to know that there are children advocates out there like you.

I am having my parents on Thanksgiving, both of my children are working all day. Hope they will get to spend some time with us on another day and have some leftovers. My mother got a free turkey(20lbs) and she gave it to me to cook. I told her not to do anything. She has done more than her share of thanksgiving dinners over her 56 years of marriage. I am just so thankful that her and my dad are here to share it with us.

Made some more chocolate muffins today, made sure to feeze most of them as my DH will scoff down several at a time.

lol.. got love it when they eat your stuff.. i have the same problem.. i cant eat what they eat but they sure have no problem eating my stuff..lol.. You are right it is wonderful to have your parents around.  I lost my mom 9 years ago and my dad remarried to a woman 8 years older than me... Shes good for him.  I see him one in a great while which is tough cause he only lives 6 miles from me.. He is always busy...lol.. but thats a good thing.

I hope you get to spend sometime with your kids.  Holidays are for family.

Nice day for you check out that protein... all of its very nice.. you have a great day as I am sure you are preping for the holiday and enjoy the time with your parents.. It's a special time.

See ya tomorrow..
